The Chesterfield Mayfair

We have stayed at the Chesterfield Mayfair several times, and every time it is simply a superlative experience. From the warm greetings at the door to reception to housekeeping to the restaurant and bar, and particularly the wonderful piano player, the Chesterfield Mayfair is a terrific experience. Highly highly recommended while in London.

The “boutique” like hotel was very comfortable and clean with many amenities, robes, water, and restaurant and bar on premise. Close to Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, while a little further from the other attractions we found the Mayfair district to be quiet and convenient to the tube. The staff were all very friendly! Room 702 was very quiet.

Having stayed at several Red Carnation Properties in the past, I knew to expect high levels of service in a stunning building but our recent visit to The Chesterfield surpassed all previous experiences. From the moment we arrived, the staff were first class, engaging in friendly conversation but never being intrusive or overbearing and very tactfully finding out about the reason behind our trip (more on that later). Our room wasn't ready on arrival, but no biggie, we were early and our luggage was stowed whilst we went out for a little explore. Upon returning to the hotel, we were greeted like old friends, and escorted up to our room. The Garden Suite that we were allocated was stunning, a perfect size with a stunning bathroom including a Jacuzzi bath and separate shower. There was a lovely touch of some welcome biscuits which disappeared pretty quickly! The bed was up there with the most comfy we've stayed in. On arrival, we had mentioned that we were in London to see Coldplay at Wembley Stadium on the second day of our trip and imagine our surprise/delight to find some drinks vouchers (to the beautiful Sem's bar downstairs), a bag of popcorn and a little note wishing us a good concert, it's little touches like these that sort great hotels from the good and this certainly reinforced this for The Chesterfield. One last area to comment on is the beautiful and reliably informed brand new Stanley's Rooftop Bar on the 5th floor. Despite some inclement weather at the time, we were well sheltered and the drinks were delicious! All in all, another wonderful stay in a Red Carnation property, they are a company that really knows hospitality and seem to love looking after their guests with genuine passion.

The Chesterfield was amazing. It was a charming Hotel with the best service. We did a 3 generations girls trip and we cannot say enough nice things about the Chesterfield. Fantastic service, immaculately clean, delicious free breakfast, awesome afternoon tea ( kid friendly), beyond allergy friendly. The staff from reception to porters was top notch. We loved it!

We have now stayed at the Chesterfield three times, for a total of 14 days, and we will continue to come back, to our London home away from home. The location is perfect for every where and everything you want to see and do in London. The staff is very, old-school professional, kind and attentive to every need. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are perfect. Jozsef is super helpful in all matters and goes above and beyond in his desire to help. He even walked me to a place that had the best exchange rate near the hotel. The bar staff in the lobby bar and the newly opened roof top bar are super kind and make great drinks. Make sure you check out the roof top bar, it is the perfect place to cap off your evening in London!
