One of London's best-kept secrets, the Connaught nestles in the heart of fashionable Mayfair in an area of charming antique shops, galleries, and designer boutiques. Built in 1897, this member of Maybourne Hotel Group preserves an air of Edwardian elegance that promises an experience that can be compared to a stay in an English country manor. One of the world's most distinguished addresses has recently undergone a multi-million dollar restoration that has brought the hotel well and truly into the 21st century, while still preserving the elegance so beloved of its guests. An effortless blending of original art and antiques alongside the latest in modern facilities, high levels of service, and fine cuisine serve illustrate why this is the hotel of choice for many.

The property is gorgeous, very well located, and the rooms very nicely appointed. Having gotten this out of the way, now I will tell you WHY our stay was truly a mixed bag, unfortunately... First off, the phone in the room did not work!!! Thus we were unable to order room service, not until I had to contact the concierge through email!!! Room service was just "good and the personnel left the tray there all night when they said they would remove it... They promised to fix the 0hone, but did not. The next day my wife was feeling a bit under the weather, and wanted to order some tea, but could not, again because of the faulty phone line. I had to go to the front desk to order it for her and it took forever to get delivered. Upon check out, a few surprises, first off a 45 pound discretionary charge per each night of our stay, really? After paying 1200 pound per night. Huh?? Then they said breakfast was included but not all of the items that we had ordered were (we were never told this). Thus we were charged about 30 pounds extra. The front desk personnel did end up adjusting the bill (not very voluntarily though) and they did offer to also remove the discretionary charge that was for housekeeping staff... making us feel like we were "cheap" for wanting it removed. Oh well, that is just our perception and fully on us. What is a reality is that after the phone ordeal anyone would expect a small comp or at the very least an apology. Nada!! The Jean George is beautiful but the food quite mediocre. Spa is not up to par to an Aman Spa... the gym is miniscule for such a posh property. Only highlight was Danny from Bell boy staff, remarkable service always with a smile. We simply believe there are other properties in London which are not as expensive and have a better delivery overall. Sorry to say, we would think quite long and hard before staying there again. Beautiful property which fails to properly cater to their beloved guest.

The best hotel in London, hands down! Excellent customer service from arrival to every interaction in the hotel. Rooms are charming, large, comfy, and clean! I felt like a home away from home.

- Beautiful decor - Meticulously clean - Attentive service - Great location These points sum up this hotel…… It’s not cheap but that’s to be expected. The area is my favourite part of London and there are great pubs & restaurants within walking distance

The Connaught Hotel, London – simply the best in London After 30+ stays at the Connaught, I can honestly say The Connaught never lets me down. Out of all the hotels I visit for work around the world, this one always stands out—London’s best, hands down. The interiors are classic and beautiful, always spotless. Dining is a real highlight—whether it’s breakfast or lunch at Jean-Georges, a steak at their top-notch steakhouse, a Michelin-starred dinner, or a drink at the iconic Connaught Bar, every spot is its own experience. But what really makes The Connaught special is the people. The staff—especially at the front desk and in the restaurants—are consistently genuinely warm, attentive, and efficient. There’s a real sense of care in everything they do. That vibe comes from the top. The management team is the best I’ve seen—everything runs smoothly, and the culture of hospitality is obvious everywhere. The concierge deserves a special shoutout. They’re incredible at making the impossible happen, from last-minute reservations to finding hidden gems in the city. I’ve tried most of London’s top hotels, and The Connaught’s concierge is simply unbeatable. For me, The Connaught isn’t just a hotel—it feels like my second home. Every time I come back, it’s like coming home, and that’s priceless. I love my second home.

I LOVE The Connaught Hotel. It truly feels like a home away from home. Actually it feels better than home because of the wonderful staff starting with the doormen (hello Carl), reception (hello Andrei amd Mohamed), conciege (hello Manuel) and all the staff at the restaurants and bars especially the Red Room. Thank you one and all and I willl look forward to seeing you all again soon.

"My wife and I just returned from England. We purchased the Lygon Arms/Connaught package from Luxury Link.
I wanted to let you know that everything was provided as promised. Our suites at both The Lygon Arms and The Connaught were truly outstanding. In fact, our suite in London was perhaps one of the finest accommodations that we have ever experienced anywhere in the world."

"The Connaught was the best hotel experience, in years of travel, topping every world-wide luxury lodging in all respects. Given that we are 'road warriors' who travel the globe frequently, staying at the best hotels, this is a huge accolade. We never want to stay anywhere else! From the initial welcome, all the service from General Manager Anthony Lee's team was memorable. Our suite was the ultimate in luxury with a bed of perfection. The butler and staff were helpful, anticipating our every need. The Dining Room and Grill Room decors are fresh from a Nina Campbell makeover, with a new Gordon Ramsey protégé in charge, orchestrating the dining experience, which is all the rage of the London food scene. Every ingredient in every meal was special, from breakfast to tea and dinner, all including superb professional service. That this unique combination of comfort and style with such new-trend dining is available in such a historic environment is a testament to Mr. Lee. We are glad to know that this level of hotel experience still exists in today's world. We are eager to return and hopefully establish a corporate account at The Connaught for future business travel!"
