The pair of red brick townhouses that make up The Egerton House Hotel stands on 17th Century land that the alderman of London entrusted to slaves being held by Turkish pirates. A string of colorful characters inhabited the mansions through the decades, and remnants of history remain in each uniquely decorated room. Elaborate padded headboards, brocaded fabrics and original antiques combine to create an ambiance that is both stately and welcoming.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were impressed by the high standards throughout the hotel. There is a real sense of quality and attention to detail, from the presentation of the rooms to the overall guest experience. The staff deserve particular praise, friendly, professional and genuinely engaging throughout our visit. They struck exactly the right balance between efficiency and genuine hospitality. The location is also excellent, right in the heart of Kensington and within easy walking distance of both the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, making it an ideal base for exploring this wonderful part of London. A thoroughly enjoyable stay from start to finish. Highly recommended, and we will certainly return in the future.

The Egerton House Hotel was outstanding in every way. What separates it from other hotels is the level of personalized service. The concierges were both personable and extremely informative. This is a Five Star hotel in every way.

We absolutely adored The Egerton House Hotel. The staff was exceptional in every way, so very friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. Our every need as travelers was thought of and prepared for. The King room was lovely and quiet albeit small, but typical for London. bedding was luxurious and comfortable, although the bed itself, a little on the hard side. The bathroom was a bit small and we had some trouble with getting the old style toilet to flush adequately, but that was all part of the charm. We enjoyed the daily treats and fruit left in the room and the candy/fruit/nut bar in the hall. We appreciated the Member passes to the V&A that were offered when we mentioned we were going there. The daily breakfast included with our package was probably the best breakfast available in London. The ingredients, selection and culinary skill were top level and we enjoyed that in the dining room and in our room when we were too tired to rise (at no extra charge). It was so plentiful with all the dishes they bring, I don't think we ate lunch more than once all week since we were so full. The cream tea in the front parlor was lovely and the house teas are phenomenal. We also had dinner there one night when returning from a long tour day and enjoyed the chicken pot pies and cocktails in the parlor. We got our steps in daily walking to the Tube station which is about 10 minute walk away, South Kensington or Knightsbridge. This is a posh area of London to stay in, you won't be disappointed if you are traveling with your partner and want an elite experience.

Excellent and intimate townhouse experience with great and personal service (including turndown service). Great location in a quiet side street close to bus a stop, metro, V & A museum and parks. Beautiful place with comfortable bed. Highly recommended.

Our visit to London was fantastic. We were very busy but one of the best times was at the end of the day coming "home" to Egerton House. Staff was excellent, welcoming and making us so very comfortable. Egerton House is a great location to stay, "Quite Lovely".
