Great Scotland Yard Hotel London

The room was very disappointing for a so-called five-star hotel: the mattress was stained, the furnishings were basic, and the “complimentary cooler” offered only two small bottles of water and four tiny cartons of UHT milk—no minibar or snacks as you would reasonably expect. Service also fell short: when ordering cheese and biscuits, we were served cheese with shortbread. On top of this, our stay was disrupted by a 4:45am delivery outside our room and, the following day, the hotel was surrounded by riot police and protesters. For £920, this was far from a luxury experience.

The location is fantastic and all employees we’re wonderful. Our room was cramped and awkward having no chair whatsoever and one large and fairly useless buffet type piece that uselessly took up room. The bathroom was split into two small rooms. The very tiny sink in the toilet area just splashed water everywhere. That said, we definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We went for afternoon tea. Absolutely perfect! The food was excellent, the hotel was gorgeous (only saw downstairs), the service just right. Even the fact there was some background music, loud enough to add ambience but not intrusive.

What a spectacular Hotel and a great experience. The Hotel is superbly managed. The entire Team is completely committed to guest satisfaction. Wonderful facilities and very nice rooms. Understand that you are in London and the rooms will not be palatial, but they are extremely comfortable, quiet and meticulously designed. Amazing linens, towels, showers and amenities. etc. a true 5 star+ property. Loved every minute.

This is a four star hotel offering four star service. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Expect hello’s and good morning’s and welcome back’s. The food at breakfast was extraordinary and better than the typical fair you find at hotel breakfasts. We also had a great experience getting a night cap and late night dessert at the bar one evening. The rooms are soundproof and quiet. It looks recently remodeled or otherwise very well kept. The location is central to every main attraction one would want to see in London and short distance walk to multiple tube lines.
