Our family of four (including two kids, ages 6 and 3), booked the GSY for our stay in London after a lot of deliberation regarding where exactly we should stay. We ended up choosing the GSY because of their adjoining rooms, but in hindsight, I would not book this hotel again. Especially given how expensive it was! On check-in, our first “upgraded” room was ADA accessible and had long emergency cords throughout the room and bathroom that were not safe for young kids (strangulation risk). It also felt like a coffin because it was surrounded by brick walls. We then spent the first night in detached rooms that required my husband and I to sleep separately with the kids for safety. The next day we got moved to an appropriate room, but only a nominal gesture of food and beverage coverage was offered for our troubles - any other hotel would have comped that first night without a second thought. This hotel was marketed to us as “kid friendly” - but short of the special room keys for kids and small bears on arrival, there was nothing kid friendly about our stay at all. They did not have a stool to help my toddler reach the bathroom sink and they did not have any kid appropriate cutlery in the breakfast restaurant. Also, there’s at least 6-8 large stairs we had to lift our stroller over to get inside the hotel every time we came in and out, and there was rarely any help from the lobby team to do this. They also provided a Christmas stocking for the kids on Christmas Day, but it took me hours to track down some allergen information about it and they never provided the ingredient list I asked for so my kids could not eat it. This is all despite them being aware since before we arrived about my youngest child’s severe food allergies. Service was abysmal across the board other than a few select team members who went above and beyond to try to help us. My phone was stolen in London and while I understand the hotel can’t do anything about this, the icing on the cake was them charging me to call the local police! They comped it only when I complained at check-out. Housekeeping was terrible and there were multiple fruit flies in our room almost daily - we didn’t have fresh fruit in our room, so no idea where these were coming from. I sent the hotel an email before writing this review and let’s just say, they further confirmed the absolute lack of care they have for their guests. London is filled with good hotels - stay somewhere else!

Stayed a few nights during the holiday season. Overall, it was fine. The location of the hotel is excellent for many of the popular central London attractions, since it's within walking distance of Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Seven Dials, etc., and also within walking distance of the Charing Cross and Embankment tube stops. My room was small (e.g., one side of the bed was against a wall and didn't have a bedside table) but had elegance with the furnishings, fixtures, etc. It was quiet (didn't hear much hallway noise or noise from other rooms), and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. Water was hot and the shower pressure was excellent. On the downside, the carpet was a bit worn and needing replacement, the robes and towels were threadbare (unusual and disappointing for a hotel of this quality), the temperature was difficult to control (very cold at night), and the deadbolt on the room door did not work (again, the sort of preventive maintenance issue a hotel of this caliber should notice on its own). Staff in the lobby were present and helpful, and the breakfast was solid (a small buffet of continental options, followed by a served entree). I had a bad experience in the hotel's bar. The website says the bar is open until late, with no mention of the kitchen closing. I visited after a concert one night to sit at the bar for several minutes, unacknowledged by staff chatting in the corner, and then was snottily told the kitchen was closed. So, although the space is cool, I would avoid the bar--its cocktails are way too expensive to be ignored by the staff. Overall, a fine stay, but not a perfect one, particular for a hotel of its class and price. The hotel needs to focus on some of the details.

This is a charming hotel in a great location. The staff is very friendly and professional. The lobby area is small but filled with interesting art and artifacts relating to the building’s history. My room was not remarkable but comfortable and clean. Good shower, nice fluffy towels, Japanese style Toto toilet. Breakfast was good. Plenty of options for me and the staff was always very kind. I would definitely consider staying here again!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff (Moamen) greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a wide variety of fresh options and the staff (Muhammed) was exceptionally kind and always available to assist me. A special mention goes to “Mo” from the Front Desk, who always recognized us and greeted us warmly, He was always kind, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Thank you very much for your outstanding assistance and genuine kindness. Also, thanks to Alexia, who promptly assisted us when we asked for suggestion on how to get to the airport. Her quick and helpful guidance made our departure smooth and stessfree. I really hope to come back as soon as possible, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and comfortable stay.

The perfect hotel in a good location on a visit to London. The best hotel bed I have slept in plus lovely toiletries in the bathroom.
