Wow we were so excited to stay at GSY due to the recommendation from our Globalist group on social media and also for its great location. But GSY is a total letdown and then some. At check in, the receptionist was very friendly and inviting. We felt the service was absolutely wonderful. Since we got there at 10am, she told us if we can wait a few hours, we can get an upgraded room for my Globalist status. We’re ok to wait since we were just planning to visit some museums that day so we agreed. But when we returned at about 5pm, we were assigned to room 110. It was the room type I booked and it had a view of the back alley with the local bars and restaurants trash bins and a homeless guy camping directly in front of us. We ended up keeping the curtains closed throughout our stay. If that was an upgraded room, I can’t imagine what the room without upgrade is like. To make matters worse, I had an unpleasant surprise when I was about to sleep. There it was: some dried up blood stain on the bedsheets staring back at me. How can a hotel at this caliber allow something like this to happen? Clearly housekeeping wouldn’t miss that when putting on the sheets so clearly they didn’t care. Just WOW! We heard from our Globalist group that the hotel offers short tours of the hotel. So I went and asked at concierge at 6:02pm, I was told they have tours at 10am and 6pm so I should ask again at 10am. Seriously? Whatever happened to customer service? Or am I in a soup kitchen begging for some food? You couldn’t take the time to give us a quick tour because it’s 6:02pm and not 6pm. So we decided to skip that altogether. All in all, the service seemed great from everyone but there are some major issues with this hotel. I was not be back and would not recommend anyone to this hotel either. 120 nights I spend in Hyatt every year so this is not the Hyatt experience that will keep my business

This hotel, its location, staff, hotel atmosphere were perfect for our stay in London. Being a Hyatt hotel the bar was raised more than I expected. Everyone from arrival to departure made us feel Welcome. Naomi in the elephant bar room was a delight to meet. The room itself has all the amenities you would need. The hotel decor is beautiful. The location is close to all of London’s attractions. Well done Hyatt!

From start to finish the GSY was a pleasure to stay. The staff was beyond kind and welcoming. They were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautifully designed. Every detail. The daily breakfast we had was amazing. No detail left out.

This was our first stay but won't be our last as it more than lived up to our expectations. Our room was spacious, quiet and well equipped with a large, well lit bathroom. The staff were welcoming and efficient. The location is ideal for many of the tourist attractions ( in a quiet street off Whitehall ) and is close to a convenient Tube station. Without any hesitation, this is now our " go to " hotel in London.

Smells amazing and looks incredible when entering the Hotel. Staff very informative, helpful and friendly. Lots of history in this hotel. Very clean corridors and spacious. Unfortunately the rooms weren't, they were small, mo dressing table, no mirror apart from the mirror on the wardrobe where the plug socket it half way across from it so not easy to dry hair or apply make up. No bath just a shower but it was a good powerful shower with toiletries supplied. Toilet was separate from the bathroom , with a small basin. Very modern toilet with heated seat etc. Bed was comfortable, room was cold. Stains on the carpet. View from window was looking directly into the rooms opposite. Drinks and food in the mini bar were very overpriced, 4 pounds for a kit kat. Towels were hard. This is a lovely hotel, very clean and the location is superb, walking distance to Buckingham palace etc and to be fair reasonably priced for where it is. We had a king-size room but in reality it was no bigger than a normal standard double so that is why we were disappointed with our stay and because of the amenities in the room. The lady who checked us in and the front office manager Philip Lee are in my opinion a credit to the hotel, and did there best to rectify any problems we had.
