Reviews for Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel

Good hotel for business travelers, lovely location, but note mediocre food

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The location of this hotel is absolutely wonderful just off of Hyde Park and in the gorgeous upscale Mayfair neighborhood. The lobby is lovely and I really enjoyed the live piano music. Clientele was mostly well-heeled Middle Eastern and Asian travelers. The rooms were classic, but spacious and with lovely views of the surrounding residential buildings. A few points that prevented me from giving a full 5 star rating: 1. The shower did not drain well in my room (maintenance should be doing a better job of staying on top of this 2. The food was extremely mediocre. Yes, this is a Marriott chain hotel, but it's also a JW and located in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. I expected better. Both times I ate at the hotel, the food was incredibly bland. Overall, it's a nice location for business travelers / first time trip to London, but my personal preference is to stay in more of a "neighborhood" area when I travel to London because I have been there many times.

Understated elegance

This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are luxurious, the service is excellent and the location is great. Everyone is so friendly, and it is clear everyone takes great pride in their job. This hotel is the epitome of understated elegance and represents all the best attributes of the JW brand.

5 Star at its best.....

Was staying here on a business trip for recent mentoring and awards trip, the service was amazing from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. The concierge and doormen were extremely helpful throughout the stay. Check in was quick and efficient, arrived early and was lucky enough not only to get an early check in but also an upgrade. The room itself was well kept and clean. And the bed extremely comfortable. 1 of the best sleeps I've had while travelling. Will definitely consider staying here on my next trip to London.

Wonderful!

This team has perfected customer experience. Everyone is friendly, approachable, and genuinely engaged with customers. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and the lounge is a must. Location across Hyde Park is hard to beat and major attractions are walkable. Great experience.

Opulence

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This is a magnificent hotel, truly impressive and exuding luxury at every turn with a few twists and nods to years past. Reception and lobby is opulent, front desk staff beyond friendly and sweet with us….giving us a little upgrade and adjoining rooms which was very kind to do. We had access to the executive lounge, and again this is a very relaxing space but adding in luxury and comfort at the same time. We enjoyed the champagne and cheese board immensely! The room was super spacious and the bed heavenly, with high quality linens and big fluffy towels…..all usual 5 star things I’d expect. The room is a little dated but this is a huge hotel and I have no doubt they are upgrading all the time, the bathroom made all of marble was striking. The hotel permeates a beautiful scent which I mentioned to front desk, and upon check out they gifted me some incense sticks of the fragrance to take home which was a lovely gesture. Breakfast was extravagant and opulent, we loved the fact you could have a la carte and or buffet and everything here is served top notch quality not to mention the exceptional service. We loved just wondering around the hotel, whether is be listening to the piano playing or tasting the divine patisseries from the little shop. Of course, the distance of falling in to Hyde Park as you step out of the hotel or in to the quaint street of Mayfair on the other entrance to the hotel adds even more delight to this remarkable hotel. We will be back for sure!
