The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

After we checked out of the hotel after a 5 night stay, my wife turned to me and said "I wouldn't stay anywhere else next time we visit London". From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were treated like royalty. No sooner were we out of the cab, then Raj, the hotel concierge (his actual title is Hotel Experience Manager), came down the steps to greet us by name. After check-in, Raj gave us a tour of the hotel pointing out the historical parts (i.e. the table where Churchill ate dinner), paintings of the Battle of Waterloo as well as several copies of paintings by Rubens. The Tea Room was right in front of the Royal Mews where one could look at the horses while drinking tea. Raj showed us to our room and pointed out that every room in the hotel is decorated differently. It had an old world feel to it because of its rich history. The location was fabulous as it was a short walk to Buckingham Palace, and just a 15 minute walk to Westminster Abbey. Victoria Station was also just a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. Breakfast was suburb and the bellhops were very accommodating and the desk staff was able to give us directions to places of interest. We were very happy with our room. I have stayed in many hotels over the years, but I have never received the personal attention that I did at the Rubens. Raj provided a level of experience that was over and above any hotel concierge. I gave the hotel 5 stars, but Raj deserves a 6 star rating! We can't wait to return.

Fantastic 2 nights stay at The Rubens. You can feel the history in every corner of the hotel. The staff where exceptional and breakfast was lovely with a large array to choose from. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble fir the staff who made the whole experience that extra bit special. We will 100% visiting again.

The Rubens Hotel is British luxury at its best. Staff so pleasant and genuinely wish to please. Greeted by beautifully dressed doorman who handled 7 bags at once with a smile. Concierge JT took the time to help me purchase an additional rolling bag for my treasures but he escorted me several blocks to ensure I got what I needed. You get what you pay for and this hotel is a winner 🥇

Our stay at the Rubens was nothing short of amazing. We travel fairly often and can honestly say the service we received at the Rubens was the best anywhere. All of the employees we came in contact with during our stay were exceptional. The location is a 3 min walk to Victoria station and Buckingham Palace. I would highly recommend Rubens for your next visit to London.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
