The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

I absolutely love Rubens, what stands out the most for me is the remarkable personable service recieved from start to finish, the impressive decor as well throughout makes you feel like your genuinely in a palace. The overall hotel and restaurants have such a nice feel, are clean tiny and neatly presented. From the moment you arrive, the doorman is reaching to help you, opens the doors, grabs your bags and gives you a nice warm welcome. My parents stayed for the night to celebrate my mums 60th birthday, and upon checking in, was told she was upgraded for free which was incredibly nice and really did make her birthday extra special. The room was absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated with a nice size bed, beautiful bed sheets and little extra specials added such as, 2 cookies on the dressing table. My parents were blown away with their room, it was beautiful. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful and was prepared in a stunning restaurant with again, beautiful decor. The only slight constructive feedback we could give, is the pace when preparing hot drinks does need to improve, on two occasions on different days we waited for quite a long time at the bar for our hot drinks and had to remind staff twice for it, the alcoholic beverages arrived quickly but the same can't be said for the hot drinks which was ashame, especially as my mum recieved her hot drink as we finished our alcoholic drinks. The staff did appear to deal with our request promptly and removed the hot drinks from the bill which was appreciated. Overall the stay was pleasant and the service was brilliant. A special mention to Alicja on reception for being so accommodating and professional along with the concierge staff. Thank you

I just returned from my second stay at the Rubens at the Palace and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my visit. Each staff member went out of their way to ensure the trip was a positive one, beginning with Charlie, who checked us in and remained extremely attentive throughout the week. Robert delivered our bags to the room and took time to walk us through the various amenities available. The doormen were consistently professional and a friendly presence whenever we entered or left the building. One of our favorite memories from the stay was at departure, when Pascal and another staff member brought our luggage to the taxi and waved goodbye as we drove off. That small gesture perfectly captured the personal care taken to make guests feel genuinely valued. Many other staff members contributed to making the stay such a pleasant one, particularly those working at the front of the hotel. We had the pleasure of meeting Kristina, the executive housekeeper, who kindly arranged for our room to be made up early each day in response to an inquiry about housekeeping times. I also appreciated the regular calls to the room to check on the quality of the services provided. Although I was sad to see my visit come to an end, I truly look forward to my next stay at the Rubens at the Palace. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for helping to make this such an excellent trip.

A MUST stay! I hardly write reviews and love to travel:), but this is worth sharing the good news. We had incredible, attentive service that made us feel so special. The hotel is perfectly located close to Buckingham Palace. They were extremely helpful in making the stay unforgettable. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and exceeded expectations. What really stood out was the staff. Would love to stay here again and again. My children would give it 10 out of 5 stars, and we wholeheartedly agree. Cannot stay enough good things about our experience. Book it for you, too!!

They made me feel like a VIP, and I truly didn’t want to leave. An experience as much as a simple place to stay for the night.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
