The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

Well, what can we say about The Rubens at The Palace! Simply fabulous… We were welcomed by Alicja, a great receptionist who took every care in making us feel at home right away. The staff are absolutely amazing. Every single member of staff that we encountered was welcoming, professional and incredibly friendly. They treated us like family but also like VIPs! We didn’t get everyone’s names but wanted say a special thank you to young Arthur, who looked after us on our second day in The New York Bar, you will go far young man with your lovely personality, professionalism and most beautiful manners. We had a simply stunning blue room with a fantastic view of The Royal Mews. Room 213. We were celebrating our Sapphire Wedding Anniversary and staff had put beautiful messages and treats in the room for us, which made it feel extra personal and special. We visited The New York Bar which is red and is very luxurious, with a lovely warm fire and furnished in red velvet and stripes. The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing and we were surprised with a beautiful little anniversary cake. A special thank you to Lucio who attended to us during the evening. In the morning we used The English Grill for a fantastic buffet breakfast followed by a full English, which we couldn’t fault and the breakfast staff once again were perfect. The ambience of the room was gorgeous. It’s decorated in teal, with leather seating and lovely mirrors. There was a lovely doorman, who was happy to pose for photos with us and brought a smile to our faces! We went to see Wicked at The Apollo. The Apollo, Buckingham Palace, Horse Guard’s Parade and The National Art Gallery are all within easy walking distance. All I can say, is stay there if you get the chance, we didn’t really want to leave and went back to the bar before going home, we hope to go back very soon. Thank you too for the lovely farewell chocolates and once again to everyone at The Rubens for making our stay so special.

The rubens at the palace it's really a place to stay in London ! We stayed there with my fiance 3 nights, and it was really delightful, the personal at the reception is really kind, such as the team at the restaurant and breakfast. They also always answered our emails. We chose the "room double royal mews view" and everything was nice, with nice view, really pretty, clean and everything that we were expecting. We came for a special occasion and the personnal was really taking care of us and did their best for us ! They even prepare a congratulations cake for us ! We highly recommend this hotel and if we come back to London we will for sure choose rubens at the palace again 😀

Rubens at the Palace exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The service was exceptional - especially for my coeliac granddaughter’s birthday which was made so special for her. Thank you everyone!

We have been staying at The Rubens as a family for around 35 years now, and whilst we have seen many changes over the years we still enjoy the traditional charm and welcoming atmosphere of this lovely hotel. All of the staff are kind and friendly. Hotel Manager Leo in particular was a consummate professional in ensuring our stay lived up to the standard we have come to know from The Rubens.

Great location, welcoming atmosphere, great service and good food. We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was clean and comfortable, and reasonably quiet given it faced the main road. We had a pre-theatre meal in the New York Bar and breakfast the following morning. The food was good on both occasions although breakfast is a bit expensive (our daughter bought ours as a birthday treat.) The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd stay again.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I stayed at the hotel and found it to be delightful. It was a good, central location with comfortable, well-appointed rooms. The staff was outstanding, and the food was quite good. I would definitely stay there again!

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
