The Savoy

Visited the Savoy for my 60th birthday with my mum. From the minute we walked up to the reception we were treated like royalty. Our room wasn't ready so we had a coffee then ventured into Selfridges for lunch and shopping. We arrived back at the Savoy at 5pm to be told we had been upgraded. When John took us to our junior suite, I was overwhelmed, speechless to say the least. The room was AMAZING, my mum had organised little treats and so had the staff. The room was beautiful with a River Thames view. We went to top American bar for a cocktail, again treated like royalty, everyone wished me happy birthday. From check in to check out we were treated fabulously, for the whole time we were there we felt very special. Thank you to everyone at Savoy for a wonderfully memorable experience.

Visited the Savoy for an afternoon tea as part of a birthday treat. The service is first class, were offered a number of variations on the afternoon tea from the most expensive at £165 to a much lighter version. Over 20 different teas were on offer too, as well as wine, champagne & cocktails. The first sandwiches on offer were a selection of four, all explained by our waitress. Also on offer were smoked salmon brioche & a tartlet. All delicious & once finished our waitress even offered if we’d like any more - the salmon brioche were exceptionally good! Next were the cakes, again all explained as to what they all were. A selection of 4 each, as well as 2 scones with jam, cream & lemon curd. First time we’ve visited & will definitely be back again in future. First class food & service, even visited the famous American Bar afterwards for a cocktail to finish off a wonderful visit!

We came with a mission, and that was to visit three 5 star hotels in London, with a view to making a booking for Christmas. We visited on Friday afternoon and ordered a sandwich, scone and tea, the service was outstanding and the food was perfect with a lovely atmosphere, this in comparison to a competitor where we found the service to be cold and the staff were not switched on. There is also a wow factor when you enter the Savoy and there is space to sit down and read a book in many areas. That evening we compared the 3 hotels we visited and decided to go back to the Savoy and see a bedroom, we walked up to reception and asked to see a standard room not a suite, we were treated so well by the receptionist, she was interested and engaged and you could pick up that there was a genuine interest to assist us and explain the options. We were brought up to the room and also to different areas in the hotel. Have to say her energy, personality and kindness is invaluable to a hotel (did not get her name but she was Scottish). When we compared prices of the 3 hotels we visited - the Savoy also came out on top in relation to value for money, atmosphere and wow factor, so in conclusion we will be booking the Savoy for Christmas and look forward to our visit. We had afternoon tea at the savoy for mums 70th birthday. It was wonderful the staff were fantastic and made us feel special. The sandwiches and cakes were beautifully presented and tasted lovely. The atmosphere in the room was fab, especially with the wonderful pianist. We shall be back.

The Savoy is very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the stay. The location is excellent, close to many attractions. I would definitely recommend it to other travelers looking for a high-quality hotel experience.
