The Savoy

We have returned from a wonderful three night stay at The Savoy. Everything was fantastic from breakfast in the gallery to drinks in the American Bar and dinner at the Grill. We stayed in the newly refurbished rooms with views of the gardens and Thames which were lovely. All the colleagues and managers were so kind, thoughtful and charming. We will definitely return.

Amazing afternoon tea. Thanks Maithili and David for the generosity and customer service skills were amazing. Plenty of food and hot drinks, great ambience and decor. So much food, we rolled out! Must be experienced!

The hotel is immaculate, everything is just perfect. The cleanliness is faultless. The staff were all charming and we were made to feel welcome immediately. The room was spacious, spotless and had an incredible view of the Thames. The food and drinks were wonderful.

This was our 4th stay to The Savoy over a 4-5 year period and countless ‘pop in’ visits for cocktails and breakfast etc in between. I may have said this in a review for The Savoy before but I am convinced they pump something into the air to get you hooked and never want to stay anywhere else in London! The reason I say this, when I was 30 I stayed in another hotel in London, (starts with R and ends with Z and rhymes with ‘bits’) and didn’t have a very positive experience. I made a plan to go to a beautiful hotel every few years for my birthday and next up was The Savoy when I was 35…and I’ve not bothered trying anywhere else after (besides a couple of lunches in similar hotels that I still didn’t get the same vibe from) and even after this 4th stay, I still feel the same about it, my friends even refer to it as ‘Your Savoy’ when we talk about it! We’ve always stayed here when in London for any reason at all, theatres, operas and birthdays! It is truly one of my happy places, turning that corner onto the little road leading up to the hotel instantly makes me relax and feel like I’m ‘home’. I absolutely wanted to feel this for my big 40th weekend especially after a few months of issues and we had an amazing time. Lovely Kayleigh checked us in and even gave us a sneaky look at The Royal Suite which is was a real treat - thank you again so much, Georgina gave me a lush and relaxing massage in the spa and was so friendly and a lovely person, and one of the best things to happen all weekend was Robyn the fabulous florist looking at me walk in and in 0.1 seconds remembered me from last year from what I’d been wearing (sunflower trousers!) which was so lovely and very sweet and kind of her! What an amazing memory and that gesture made me feel very special indeed! The flowers I had from there were stunning and very unique too…as a hobby rose gardener I’d know hehe! Thank you Belinda for delivering them to our room! Breakfast came to our beautiful Thames view room every morning and bang on time, and one gentleman really stood out one morning - the lovely Issac who we had a brief chat with! The food was amazing, the room was stunning and spotlessly clean and cleaned throughout our stay to an insanely high standard and everyone made us feel welcome…I adore the door men too who may recognise us now from a few stays an always greet us with smiles and ‘welcome back-s’ There were a couple of minor issues that happened this time - I have never had to comment negatively on any of our stays or experiences however this time a couple of things occurred…I did message the guest services during the stay and politely gave them my comments and feedback and it was handled so graciously and throughly that the ‘fix’ of the problems went above and beyond to get it right and for that I was truly grateful. We shall be back again soon, I’ll definitely need my Savoy fix - and thank you all again for giving me a truly memorable 40th birthday.

The breakfast was exceptional — a true highlight of our stay, with incredible quality, variety, and a beautiful atmosphere. A very special thank you to Dylan, our butler, who was simply outstanding. His attention to detail, his discretion, and the way he anticipated our needs made all the difference. He was also incredibly kind and attentive with our children, which meant a lot to us as a family. This level of personalised service is rare and truly elevates the experience. The Savoy remains an iconic and timeless hotel. Highly recommended for everything. We cannot wait to return.
