Located on the River Thames near Covent Garden, in the heart of the city's exciting theatre district, you will find The Savoy. With its central London location this hotel offers an amazing blend of restored Art Deco and Edwardian style. Featuring either English Edwardian or Art Deco designs, each room is as comfortable as it is elegant. Silk wall coverings, marble floors, and plush Italian linens are perfectly-lit by glass chandeliers from Murano, while large picture windows offer sweeping city and river views. Refresh yourself with an invigorating rain shower, or recline in your comfortable living space, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of the hotel. At The Savoy you will enjoy the storied history and dynamic scenes of the city, with all the comforts and features of modern city living.

The Savoy Florence delivers on its physical promise. Our room was well-appointed, thoughtfully updated, and looked out onto the Piazza della Repubblica — a lively setting that, fair warning, carries noise well into the evening. For those who sleep lightly, request an interior room. What was particularly irksome and egregiously tactless for a hotel of this caliber happened during checkout: Without any prior disclosure — not at booking, not at check-in, not anywhere during our three-night stay — we were informed of an automatic €56-per-night "service charge" added to our bill. Mind you, we were already paying over $1000 a night. We were told we could remove it, but anyone who has stayed at a property of this caliber understands exactly what kind of social pressure that option carries. It's like a host inviting you to a dinner party, and as you're putting on your coat to leave, sliding a bill across the table for the meal. You can refuse to pay — but can you, really? We had tipped generously throughout our stay, as one does when the service warrants it. This charge wasn't about rewarding staff — it was a pressure tactic, structured precisely to make refusal feel awkward. At a hotel positioning itself among Florence's finest, that kind of financial ambush is not a minor oversight. It is a deliberate policy, and guests deserve to know about it before they arrive. The room/service earns 4.5 stars. The checkout practice earns one. Split the difference and you have my rating.

Disastrous experience. I booked afternoon tea for my wife and three guests to celebrate a milestone birthday, but unfortunately the occasion was completely overshadowed by poor service. From the moment my wife arrived, the staff seemed more focused on repeatedly reminding her that she needed to leave the venue within 90 minutes, which entirely ruined the relaxed and celebratory atmosphere we had hoped for. In addition, tea orders were incorrect, the service was inattentive throughout, and the tea itself was served cold. Overall, the experience felt rushed and poorly managed. I am extremely disappointed, especially given the nature of the celebration. By comparison, afternoon tea at The Landmark London offers a far superior experience in both service and quality of food.

We had afternoon tea in the Gallery followed by drinks in the American Bar. Food, drinks and service were perfect in both venues. It isn’t a cheap experience. Four afternoon teas and two glasses of champagne were almost £500 once service had been added. We thought it was worth it though.

Fabulous service - charming and professional - we were made to feel like honoured guests both in the restaurant and in the hotel - the staff should be congratulated on their fabulous work and attitude to visitors. Thankyou for a great experience.

Savoy Traditional Afternoon Tea easily earns a place in my top 3 afternoon tea experiences and it’s not hard to see why. From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely incredible. The team made us feel genuinely welcomed and looked after throughout, striking that perfect balance of attentive and warm without ever being intrusive. The plant-based menu was simply out of this world. Beautifully presented, full of flavour, and imaginative in all the right ways it’s clear a real passion goes into every element. The scones deserve a special mention too; the taste was just amazing, rich and perfectly indulgent in every bite. The atmosphere ties it all together a wonderful setting that makes the whole experience feel special from start to finish. I will absolutely be coming back. If you’re looking for an afternoon tea that delivers on great food, great service, and a great atmosphere, look no further than savoy. Highly recommended!
