Located within the city's vibrant, historical district of London Bridge, the hotel is nestled between floors 34 to 52 of Renzo Piano's iconic building, The Shard. Its 202 deluxe guest rooms including 17 spectacular suites, are amongst the largest in London, all with floor-to-ceiling windows offering unparalleled views across London. The hotel offers three signature wining and dining venues, three river-facing event rooms and an infinity pool plus a 24-hour gym on level 52.

The whole visit was wonderful. The team was super helpful and kind, and the hotel was beautiful with great food and a lovely spa.

We picked this hotel to celebrate a milestone birthday and the view from the room was so worthwhile. Loved using the binoculars to look around. Amazing bathroom facilities and massive bed. We were able to check in early which was super appreciated. I really enjoyed the stay and would recommend to others but there were a few things stopping the full five stars. The room is noisy at night, not from other guests/outside but from the ventilation system - even though our climate control was off, there was a constant drone all night. The pillows were way too soft for us also. There is a pillow menu, but no description about the support so didn’t know which to choose. The hairdryer was connected in the bathroom which wasn’t always ideal. The sink had a small leak which we noticed upon leaving and notified reception. I have stayed in other 5 star hotels that left personalised notes & chocolates when celebrating something but this hotel did not, even though it was noted on the pre arrival email - this isn’t an expectation, just an observation. We did not use the restaurants, room service or house keeping so cannot comment on that, but the room was spotless upon arrival. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the location is excellent.

We booked Shangri-La The Shard, London to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and chose the hotel only after specifically checking their dog policy in advance. I was clearly told that although dogs are not allowed in most dining areas, they could be left in the room for short periods (for example, while having breakfast), provided “Do Not Disturb” was used. After booking, we were then informed that dogs cannot be left unaccompanied in the room at any time. This directly contradicts what we were told beforehand and, in reality, makes it unworkable to stay at the hotel with a dog. As a result, we’ve had to change our plans entirely. Very disappointing experience, particularly given that we went out of our way to confirm the policy before booking. For a hotel of this standard, clear and accurate information should be a given.

The best bit about this hotel is the pool with a skyline view over London, it is outstanding. The hotel itself is nice but I have stayed in much better 5 star hotels for the money. Watching the sunset from your window is amazing but do watch out for when it gets dark as you can see into other rooms. They do have a warning about this in your own bathroom but I must say I was very surprised to be able to see the room underneath's bathroom reflecting in the windows which included the toilet area. I understand the shape of the building is unique but that just felt odd so remember those blinds if your bathroom is near the window. The room was spacious and comfortable, plan ahead for space in the bar and the restaurants. Also watch out for being handed an extra charge on check out as a tip to the whole hotel staff overall. As much as it was optional it is hard to say no to it and I felt that was a little excessive as throughout my stuff I had very generously tipped throughout the hotel already.
