Designer Philippe Starck conceived St Martins Lane London as a surrealist wonderland viewed through the looking glass of classic British eccentric taste. Cheeky and daring with a touch decadent, the lobby and social spaces are signature Starck style. It’s fitting that the hotel is situated in the bustling theatre district in Covent Garden - it is pure drama. Just ask the garden gnomes; this is classic London with a seriously seductive twist. Floor-to-ceiling windows at St Martins Lane pull the cityscape into each guest room, offering a dramatic perspective on the energetic city below. The Tim Andreas of Banjo design rooms evoke a sense of spaciousness and luxury by using a mix of both naturally inspired and modern materials. The overall effect is an ethereal, yet sensuous experience.

I stayed in London just 1 night before boarding the Queen Mary 2 to sail home. Frankly I booked this hotel because it was available through a hotel program I'm in and not really any other reason. When I arrived, I noticed it was much more modern/funky fresh than I would normally choose, but I think in a good way. I had asked for a room (Jr suite) near the elevators. It was literally next to the elevators! It's a corner unit and 2 walls are all glass. It's pretty impressive. The real standout though is the bathroom. Yes, it's huge. Yes it has a massive tub, separate from the steam shower. Yes it has a WC for some privacy. But 2 things really stood out. The bathroom has wash cloths! I don't know when wash cloths stopped being a thing but I'm not down with that. And the toiletries might be the best I've ever experienced in a hotel. And I travel well.

Very interesting and relatively unique style of property. Not necessarily our preferred style but the room was very large and comfortable. The hotel is in a fantastic location close to restaurants, bars and theaters. Love London at any time and for a one night stay was perfect. Included breakfast buffet was plentiful and great quality.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fabulous stay! The location was perfect — so convenient and exciting, right in the heart of everything. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was fantastic, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Our room was spacious, stylish, and excellent value for money. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Brilliant place and staff. Front desk, bar and support staff were all great. Big thank you to Visar…super helpful bloke. Been here before and certainly will be back.

A very disappointing stay at St Martins Lane hotel and I would not recommend. The reception area is tired and is no where near the standard you would expect from a 5* hotel, the check-in process was slow and chaotic, the rooms were fine but very small with strange lighting and the breakfast was limited unless you wanted to pay an additional £10pp to order something from the separate breakfast menu. The only positive I can find is that the location is very good. The biggest issue I have however is that a simple request to change from a double bed room to a twin room has caused me a total headache. The upgrade charge was £102 and this has been charged to my credit card twice upon leaving the hotel along with a random £28 charge for a power pack that was apparently in the mini bar, I have no idea what this is and didn't even see the mini bar, let alone a power pack. I have raised this with the hotel several times since departing both by phone and email and I have asked for the duplicate charges to be reversed along with the erroneous charge for the power pack, it has now been 2 weeks since my stay and still no refund has been processed. I even sent a copy of my credit card statement showing the duplicate charges and yet they still denied they had charged me twice and I was told to sort it out with my bank, this is not what I would expect as I have already spent enough time dealing with this. I see that I am not the only customer that has had issues recently with credit card charges not being reversed who has been left to try and sort out the issue with a team that are clearly not interested in resolving the problem. I have never known such shockingly bad customer service, especially not from a hotel charging so much. Save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else.
