Designer Philippe Starck conceived St Martins Lane London as a surrealist wonderland viewed through the looking glass of classic British eccentric taste. Cheeky and daring with a touch decadent, the lobby and social spaces are signature Starck style. It’s fitting that the hotel is situated in the bustling theatre district in Covent Garden - it is pure drama. Just ask the garden gnomes; this is classic London with a seriously seductive twist. Floor-to-ceiling windows at St Martins Lane pull the cityscape into each guest room, offering a dramatic perspective on the energetic city below. The Tim Andreas of Banjo design rooms evoke a sense of spaciousness and luxury by using a mix of both naturally inspired and modern materials. The overall effect is an ethereal, yet sensuous experience.

Nice hotel and accomodating staff. Desk staff Maame went out of her to provide directions and print our train passes which we had lost. She saved the day for us and we really appreciated her help. She provided excellent customer service.

Great accommodation. Room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was excellent. Staff were terrific with a special shout out to AJ and DiDar. Fantastic fellows. Nothing was too much trouble and all done with a sense of humour that was infectious. They made our stay memorable.

Lovely stay with very friendly and efficient reception and concierge. Visa and Gary especially were ready to help with bags and recommendations for a bar to watch the Rugby Internationals.

Just came back from a very pleasant stay at St Martins Lane hotel. I booked a junior suite for my two teenage daughters and myself to spend four nights during their autumn break. The room was clean, very modern and the bed was very comfortable. Extra good parts: 1. Very kind and friendly staff. I would like to mention the housekeeping staff and the man who greeted us and helped with our bags. He had done a genealogical dna test which we chatted about. He was very helpful and went out of his way with service as well as knowledge on fun things to explore. 2. The breakfast buffet and the staff there. 3. The bath was big and very comfy. :-) 4. It was fun to try the Dyson air wrap. Wishes for the future: 1. We were told that all snacks and non alcoholic drinks were included and we got this both in writing and through asking the staff. Each item in the mini bar had high prices (5-7 pounds for one item) but since it was free I let the teenagers snack to their hearts delight. When we were checking out we had the charges for each item on our bill but was told that it was going to be removed before the final invoice was sent out. Back home I received the invoice and the charges was still there. I contacted the hotel and was told that I had a 100 pound limit and was charged for the rest. It was only a few pounds but it doesn’t sit right with me when I wasn’t informed of this until I had gone back home even through I asked two times during our stay and we went through every charge before I checked out. I feel a bit taken for a fool to be honest. Because if this I only gave you 4 stars instead of five. 2. We had a wonderful view from our room but it was hard to look out the windows since the blinds was permanently down. Perhaps a film to stop people from looking in could be used instead? 3. It would have been nice with a door between the bathroom and the room. There was a glass door between the bathroom and toilet but a bit more privacy would be appreciated. Thank you for a good stay!
