Kimpton Fitzroy London

I don't normally write Tripadvisor reviews but thought this stay was worthy of the effort. Just one minute from Russell Square Tube station, no changes if you're coming from Heathrow airport, the building has an absolutely stunning exterior, with a somewhat palatial appearance. The entrance lobby is similarly impressive, with the red and black marble and subtle lighting giving a warm atmosphere. The reception staff I dealt with were really warm and welcoming, with check in being a quick and easy process. Our room was on the 7th floor overlooking Russel Square and across the rooftops beyond. It was very well appointed with a wonderfully comfortable bed, along with everything you'd expect by way of in-room amenities, and a bright, clean bathroom, including an amazing shower. Perhaps this doesn't stand out from any other review but from a personal experience, the staff really went above and beyond to make this stay memorable. I booked the Fitzroy as a surprise treat for my wife's 50th birthday, our wedding anniversary was also the same weekend. As I wanted to make the visit as memorable as possible, I contacted the hotel to arrange a few extra surprises during our stay and, having spoken to Roksana and Charlotte via e-mail to make a couple of arrangements, was met on arrival by Angela who confirmed everything for me (out-with my wife's earshot!). When we got to the room, my wife was delighted to find a cake and lovely message from Angela, with a couple of glasses of champagne arriving not long after we'd settled down. As if that wasn't enough, a second cake appeared on the day of our anniversary, again, with a very thoughtful message from Angela. Yes, the building and room were faultless, but what really made our trip special was the kindness and attention to detail of the staff, a credit to the Fitzroy, which really raised our experience to another level and made us feel that we were valued guests rather than just a number. I'd have no hesitation staying here again and have to thank all the team at the hotel for looking after us so well.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel as a couple. I knew I needed to stay here after watching a history clip, explaining the hotels past. We arrived early off a flight and the hotel staff were amazing, letting us check in super early. The room was lovely, comfortable, a good size with plenty of amenities. The breakfast was great, lots of options and the staff were helpful. The front staff were amazing. So helpful. They provided a late checkout free of charge and offered to provide showering facilities before our night flight. The building itself is magnificent, and I loved admiring its architecture. It’s in a great location near Russell st tube and a direct line to Heathrow airport. Faultless. Absolutely stunning hotel. Would recommend.

The Kimpton has stellar service and is the most exquisite experience I’ve had of a luxury hotel in London. Rahul delivered my dinner, as I ordered room service, and was superior, tending to all my requests. Kind, impeccable service!!

Loved the hotel but they were slow to upgrade the room category we'd requested. The second room was much better. We were greeted by Jack - both friendly and helpful: His culinary recommendations were appreciated. Breakfast was busy, good service, enjoyable. Spacious clean gym. Centrally located - everything very accessible. Hope to return!
