A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

I am deeply grateful to Mykola for his enthusiastic assistance and kindness. He helped me store my luggage properly, and I thought he was very polite and gentlemanly

Wonderful hotel in a great location. It is right near a tube station and within walking distance of the British Museum. The hotel is lovely and the room was very nice and comfortable. I enjoyed everything about the stay. Team members were very friendly and professional. Would definitely stay again.

We just booked a one night stay to celebrate our youngest turning 18. We booked directly with Sarah in reservations and secured the perfect package with 2 Queen Premium rooms. We were then linked to Roksana in Guest Relations where I continued to liaise with over the next couple of weeks to arrange everything from; dinner reservation in the brasserie, drinks reservation in Fitz's bar and also all the extra decorations which had been sent ahead to dress the room before our arrival (30+ emails!). The communication was excellent, and even on the day of arrival Roksana kept in touch messaging me back and forth in order to make our stay as perfect as possible. The hotel is beautiful and was dressed for Christmas making it extra festive. We arrived early in order to drop our luggage and meet our eldest at the hotel before heading out for an experience at Alcotraz. Prior to leaving we had a late breakfast in the parlour, sampling the eggs benedict and croissants (best muffins we have ever had). The food and coffee were excellent as was the service. On our return around 2.30 pm we again came back to the parlour where our eldest son and girlfriend sampled some of the light bites from the menu - the lobster roll, katsu sandwich and also Caesar salad. We eventually checked into our rooms and were blown away by the effort Roksana had put in to decorating the room for our son, and the hotel even provided a sweet treat for him which was a lovely touch - thank you for making this such a special occasion. We ate in the brasserie in the evening for dinner and were equally impressed by the food, I ate too much sourdough bread and butter so could not finish my main course, but everyone commented on the quality and taste of the food, some of the best we have had in a long time. The restaurant staff then brought out dessert and candles for our son singing happy birthday, before we then headed off to Fitz's bar to sample some cocktails. The ambiance and décor in Fitz's bar is fab. We had an amazing cocktail list to check out and sampled some of the special drinks, even trying the Black Hole! All in all it was a fantastic experience. Everyone from door staff, to check in desk, restaurant staff, but especially Roksana went above and beyond to help make this a memorable experience for us. So thank you to everyone, we had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend staying with you enough. Our eldest lives just around the corner, so he will be coming back often now just for the food!

All staff were very friendly and helpful except the receptionist Esther who checked in for me. She suggested me to upgrade the room and I wanted to have a room tour first. But the suites she recommended were not cleaned yet. So I said I could walk around the hotel public area first and came back to her to show me around the rooms. However I came back in half an hour, she ignored me without any updated informtation so I had to wait for her in the lobby for nothing for another 20 minutes even I was so tired. Her colleagues were so nice and kind to come ask me if they could help me with anything and I mentioned the room upgrade. When the tall blonde super thoughtful and caring lady staff probably the duty manager asked her which rooms Esther planned to show me so that she could take me for the room tour instead of keeping me waiting fo long time, I heard Esther told the lady that I actually left the front desk for half an hour already. I can't believe Esther twisted the fact and described a hotel guest in such negative way even I was so patient with her!
