A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

Mostly excellent but, in my opinion, it didnt reach the 5 stars for some reasons. > Too expensive. To pay that money you can demand excellencem but it didnt reach that level > Breakfast. Too crowed and messy. Breakfast was included in my rate. When the waitress accomodated me on the table, she handed me a menu. I ordered an avo toast, and a few minutes later she came to explain that this was not included so I had to pay for it. They should inform beforehand. After 3 days, the items in the buffet were repetitive. > Room. Big, but not that big. Elegant, but not that elegant. Toiletries were not of premium quality anf they smelled somehow off. No turndown service Other than that, it is a great hotel, yes. Would I stay there again? Not at that rate.

The building looks huge and lavish from the outside, but the rooms are fairly small and simple. The restaurant where breakfast is served is way too small for the 330 rooms in the hotel. The breakfast buffet is ridiculously simple, similar to what you get a 2-star hotel. Why is the lobby so cold always?

Beautiful, charming, and classic London hotel. We stayed the week between Christmas and New Year’s, and the holiday decorations made the hotel feel cozy and festive. While London itself was very crowded with shoppers and tourists, the hotel remained calm and quiet, except during breakfast. Breakfast was busy, but it was well managed. The staff remained attentive, communicated peak times clearly, and ensured guests were accommodated despite the crowds. It never felt like an issue for our family. The rooms were small, but that was expected for London and didn’t matter to us—we weren’t there to spend time in the room. The bed was comfortable, amenities were well stocked, and when we had a minor issue with the shower, it was promptly fixed while we were out exploring. The location is excellent, close to the train station, and we enjoyed walking 15–25 minutes to nearby destinations to take in the city along the way. Overall, a lovely stay in a well-located hotel with attentive, efficient service.

Great stay in one of our favourite London hotels. Perfect location and plenty of amenities nearby. Hotel rooms have everything you could need and they can always provide extra if you’ve forgotten something. Couple of downsides to stay. Couldn’t use the bar or garden room due to private Christmas functions. I understand it’s busy this time of year but when you can’t use them as they are hired out you don’t get the full use of the hotel facilities. Also disappointed that the hotel didn’t recognise our IHG status (again) seems that this hotel doesn’t want to acknowledge this. Unknown why but you shouldn’t have to bring it up and should be obvious to the front of house staff when checking you in.

Staying at Kimpton Fitzroy London was such a safe, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable experience. This was our second time visiting London, and we chose to stay here again—and it was absolutely the right decision. The location is excellent and strategic: not overly crowded, but never too quiet either, so it feels balanced and convenient. Everything about the hotel continues to impress—the room, facilities, and interiors never disappoint. It’s stylish, well-maintained, and has that special atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. Simply put: love, love, love, love this hotel. We’ll definitely stay here every time we come back to London.
