Reviews for The Ned

You must go!!!

I love this place….nothing to complain about perfection! The rooms are done out 1920’s style, the spa amazing. The bed feast is well worth the money. I booked it as a birthday present for my sister she said it was the best 30th she could have asked for

A great night away in the City!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We booked this hotel as a short night away in London. It was a great hotel and the little touches in the room were above that of other hotels I have ever stayed in. The decor of the hotel was deliberately old fashioned, which added to the charm of the hotel. The hotel room itself had full Cow Shed products to use as well as amenities that way above the norm of spare toothbrush etc. The TV had satellite channels, as well as having a DAB radio in the room for background music. The bed itself was spacious and comfortable. All staff members were attentive and very helpful. If you book directly with The Ned, you get access to their spa area. The pool and the facilities were fantastic. I also appreciated the check out time of 12pm (if I remember rightly), which meant we could go for a swim in the morning and not feel rushed to get out of the room. A great visit!

WORST SLEEP AND UNHELPFUL STAFF

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The atmosphere in the evening was great, I couldn’t fault the entertainment at all. However the reason for my dissatisfaction is that we were given the room 264 which is in the service corridor and staff lift…which didn’t smell great. With this being off the main hallway it’s clear this area doesn't get as much attention to other sections of the hotel. We could hear noises from the staff lift, people walking up and down the stairs, banging doors, and noise from what sounds like a loading bay right outside our room (this could explain the reason for the windows having bevelled glass). This woke me up at 4am and with the noise being quite frequent I wasn’t able to get back to sleep. I decided to leave the room at 5am as I couldn’t stare at the ceiling for much longer. My fiancé was also woken by similar noises not long after and again couldn’t get back to sleep as the noises were frequent. With not a lot to do in the early hours we decided to head down stairs. While passing, we thought we would let the reception team know about our poor night sleep. The team responded with “we don’t have any other rooms and I will put a note onto the system to say you want a quiet room next time”. When paying £400 for a room I wouldn’t have thought you would’ve had to request for a quiet room? Does anybody actually request a noisy room? As you do, we told our friends and family of the poor night sleep we had and the cause to which my father complained to one of the reception staff. When checking out we were told that no one had used the lift and stairs all evening and insinuated we were lying. As a gesture they offered to pay for the bowl of fruit and toast we had that morning, which we wouldn’t have even had if we wasn’t woken up. After spending £400 on a room and another £300-£400 on food and drink throughout our stay, I found the gesture a bit insulting. The trip was for my birthday, and isn't something we are able to do regularly. As expected this left us leaving really disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay and I’m not sure if the Ned is worth a visit again.

Brilliant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

It was brilliant The hotel had a great atmosphere, very comfortable rooms and amazing service, the staff really looked after us and we enjoyed the burlesque show at the parlour, and then the vault. We were lucky enough to have an invitation to the roof top pool which was just amazing! The spa was really lovely aswell & everywhere was really clean. It’s right next to bank tube station so really easy to get to and I would definitely stay again . It looks expensive but worth every penny as you do get a lot for your money.

Romantic Stay 🥰

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I’m having a wonderfully romantic stay here with my husband 🥰 The staff are super friendly and make us feel right at home—just like they did when I visited with my daughter a few months back. We treated ourselves to the Ned feast, which I can't recommend enough—bottomless lobster and champagne really hit the spot. Our cozy room was clean, comfy, and full of nice little touches that added to the charm. We've been loving the spa and pool, and we're all set for a couples massage tomorrow. Can't wait! Thanks to everyone here for another fantastic visit.
