A contemporary haven nestled in a historical landmark in the center of the capital of gastronomy, InterContinental® Lyon – Hotel Dieu is one of the city’s most emblematic historical landmark buildings, originally dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries and offering contemporary and understated luxury design. Views from the hotel are always stunning, be it on the Rhône river or on our listed historic courtyards. Located on the 1st floor, the hotel’s breath-taking Soufflot Dome, towering 32 metres high, has been one of the greatest private renovations of a classified site in France since 2013. The majestic Dome is the vibrant heart of the hotel, boasting a magnificent bar. Le Dôme bar is one of the highlights of the city for hotel guests and locals alike.

World class hotel and restaurant, in the heart of this historic city. From the moment the concierge took our car keys to part, we were cosseted and welcomed. Rare to see such a good team, all happy and engaged. Restaurant is not cheap, but exceptional food and service make it value for money. The bed is amazingly comfortable and little touches - a pull out minibar fridge, sensor floor level light for nighttime trip to the loo, silent a/c. And the building...wow, especially the bar. It's the people though, we tank each person who was kind to us.

The InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu is a stunning architectural gem that has been lovingly restored. While the service at the Hotel Dieu is excellent, our overnight experience there was horrible. We arrived early to the hotel, fully anticipating that we would leave our luggage with the bellman and come back in the afternoon to check in. We were surprised and pleased when we were told that a room was already available. If we had been told that the room overlooked a courtyard with a bar and we would have a front row seat to an all-night rave, we would have happily waited for a different room. When I later expressed to the front desk staff that we were unable to sleep because of the noise (pounding music, cheering, singing, and drunken carrying on until after 1 am), the response I got was "I'm so sorry." That's nice, but I paid full price, the same as guests who actually got a good night's sleep. The hotel should have provided full disclosure - and ideally a discount opportunity (though we would not have taken it) - when placing guests in that room or any of the other handful of rooms that face that courtyard.

Stupid receptionist, no respect who doesn't hesitate to call security when asked why 6 young people can't eat on the garden steps when it's a public place and there were no customers we could have disturbed). Very disappointed with the behavior of the employees of this hotel. You don't deserve the magnificent location of the Hotel Dieu.

Booked here for a romantic weekend with my wife, ordered a double bed superior room. Upon arrival at very nice hotel. reception tells me there are only single bed rooms available - despite explicit reservation. What unspun thereafter was too crazy for words. First their only proposed solution to have a double bed was to upgrade to +50% of the agreed room price, which they argued was a bargain. Rather than finding alternative solutions (heck, why not put the 2 single beds together ??) they kept arguing with us how they were not at fault... while we did not get what we asked for. Aggravated by their condescending tone ("sir, look at my screen...") I ended up canceling our reservation and we drove home, super disappointed with how this hotel's Front Office Manager treats their guests and offers them no solutions to have a great stay (and in the process we canceled dinner at the hotel restaurant, visits at their bar, breakfast, ... how did they find this a good resolution ??) . We would definitely recommend elsewhere for a luxury weekend in Lyon. PS: and by the way, we also discovered their claimed on-premise Spa / Wellness is in fact a 5 Mondes Spa across the street ... disappointments over disappointments !!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental Lyon Hotel Dieu! Everyone we met were so friendly and they had an adorable toddler bed set up for my son with a stuffed lion, robe, slippers, and cup. He loved it! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was great. The hotel is in a great location! We would happily stay here again!
