Amazing stay at a special place!
Sometimes when you book an independent hotel in another country, you’re not sure if the pictures and reviews will live up to reality — but The Principal Madrid didn’t just meet our expectations, it exceeded every one of them. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless. Every staff member, from the front desk to housekeeping, was warm, helpful, and genuinely kind. The rooms were cozy yet stylish, beautifully designed with thoughtful details. Each evening, housekeeping would deliver a delightful surprise — from chocolates to lavender hand cream — and we found ourselves actually looking forward to discovering what treat awaited us next! The hotel’s location couldn’t be more perfect — truly in the heart of everything. The “Golden Triangle of Art” (the Prado, Reina Sofía, and Thyssen museums), El Retiro Park, Mercado, and countless restaurants, cafés, and shopping were all within walking distance. And truly — if you’re heading to Madrid, book The Principal without hesitation. It’s a hotel that delivers on every level: comfort, style, service, and location. From the moment you check in, you’ll feel cared for and completely at ease being far away from home (or close if you live near). Trust me - you’ll be telling everyone you know to stay here. You will not regret it.

The Principal Madrid is excellent
This hotel is a gem. Location is excellent. Our room was quiet, spacious, great shower, very comfortable king bed with crisp linens. The staff are professional, accommodating, and very personable. In particular, Rafael greeted us every morning with a smile and our coffee orders on the way! He manages a busy dining room with ease and efficiency while making us feel as though we are his only customers. I would also like to acknowledge Hermine at the concierge desk. She handled our many requests for private tour guides (in and outside of Madrid) and dinner reservations. Again, so professional with a personal touch. A wonderful place from which to explore Madrid!

Fantastic Central to everything.
Boutique Hotel in one of the best spots in Madrid. Walk to everything. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is delicious on the 6th floor. Leticia was a pleasure! Thanks for an amazing stay!

Incredible experience at this hotel. We stayed for our honeymoon and the service was impeccable. Specifically, Rafael made our stay very memorable as he was always available to help. Perfect location, rooms were very nice, amazing comfortable bed. Highly Recommend!
