Wonderful stay
The hotel is lovely and in a wonderful location for enjoying Madrid. The cozy bar was great in the evening and the rooftop garden was very pleasant, even in December. Breakfast was luxurious. The service overall was excellent. I would love to come back.

Top notch location and service.
Had pleasure of spending last two night of our trip in Madrid and we picked this hotel. Can’t speak highly enough of the hotel and specially the staff. The service provided by everyone including el Sr Peña our concierge and the rest of the staff was just outstanding. They’ve set the bar very high for future trips and hope we can visit again the the future.

Our stay at the Principal hotel was lovely and the staff made sure that we where always assisted and pleased to the maximum.Mister Rafael was every morning helping us and others giving put tips on how to enjoy and explore Madrid.The rooms where lovely and every request was attended to immediately by the staff.

We had a great time at the Principal Hotel Madrid. Rafael made sure we were well accommodated at breakfast. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious.

Very wonderful stay
I really enjoyed my stay at the Principal Madrid. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I found walking from the hotel to major sites was convenient. I found my way around quite easily. I actually only took one taxi (to the Flamenco dinner/dance and then walked back to the hotel) and one Tuk-tuk tour the whole time I was there. I found the breakfast in the hotel good and the dinner I had was superb. I enjoyed the bar area for a glass of wine or latte while I relaxed and read or organized pictures on my phone. Leticia, Front Desk Manager, was extremely helpful, and now consider I have a friend in Madrid! The rest of the staff helped with transportation to and from the hotel and the airport, recommended restaurants, arranged my Tuk-tuk tour and my Flamenco night out, and helped with planning my route around the city. They also helped with room needs like an iron, etc. Overall, my stay at the principal of 8 days went off without a hitch. I will be returning in April and hope to arrange another stay there. (It is an old hotel, so my room was great but the floor under the carpet was kind of lumpy. Don't know what was going on there. When I first arrived, I thought the room smelled a bit musty (I can be very picky), so they temporarily set up a dehumidifier and that took care of the problem quickly.)
