Thompson Madrid

Wonderful city break at the Thompson by Hyatt in Madrid. From the first moment, when staff is opening the door for you with a smile you feel very welcomed. Staff outstanding with giving recommendations for restaurants which we tried out. Our favorite part about the hotel was the roof top terrace. Thanks to the enchanting Barman David Gil, we had great cocktails in an lush environment with beautiful views to he city. We had a room facing the inner court and no noise at all came to us. All main attractions could be reached in walking distance.

German Escalona was at the front desk when we walked in tired from traveling, read our condition, and made the check in process relaxing and informative. Once the formalities were complete, he had our bags delivered to our room and spent some time talking about our plans for the week and offered some invaluable suggestions. Thanks again! The property location is great and convenient while at the same time between and Gran Via and Sol and not congested. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. All of the staff were attentive, and while closed for the season the rooftop pool and courtyard is beautiful.

The hotel was great, which we expected as we reserved a suite. We also figured the service would be good. What we didn't expect was that at every level of service the staff were AWESOME. Food and beverage - we loved Ima, Sol, Flor, and Claudia. Always greeted us like friends with huge smiles. Thanks. Front desk - from German going over the top helping me with an electricity converter issue to Raulia, Irene, and Nadia always greeting us with smiles and calling us out by name. I regret I do not remember a few of the other guys at the desk, but everyone was fantastic. Lastly, my friend Ventura at Concierge. He gave us several tips for locals to help us beat the tourist swarm. A final shout out to Patricia who seemed to keep everything and everyone hustling and smiling in the front desk area. A great stay, a great hotel, and a fabulous staff. Thank you so much.

Overpriced Hotel - Average Experience! Pros: 1) Excellent Location - close by are good shopping and eating options. 2) Novel and Pleasing Breakfast Experience - Freshly Prepared Dishes, Served Hot! 3) Excellent Service at Breakfast - Waitress named Sol was very friendly, helpful and efficient! 4) Good service at reception and in the waiting area - fresh tea or coffee or even a glass of Spanish wine provided alongwith some bitings. Cheerful and helpful ladies come forward to ask if they may serve you anything! Cons: 1) Swimming Pool was not operational - possibly this situation is persisting for some time now. 2) Our friends' room had some dirt lying around on the floor when they checked in! 3) No bidet or shower jet in the toilet - have always found just the toilet paper not enough!! 4) Difficult to extract Shampoo and Shower Gel from the large bottles pre-provided in the bathroom. 5) Average quality of Toileteries

We discovered Thompson Madrid randomly on Booking.com but it turned out to be the best hotel experience we've ever had. The hotel itself is stunning but what truly made our stay unforgettable was Raouya. From the moment we walked through the door she took care of every detail with such warmth and professionalism. While our room was being prepared she made sure we were comfortably seated brought us towels to refresh and offered us a welcome drinks asking and checking on us every 5 minutus to make sure we don't need anything. But what touched us the most was how she cared for our children playing with them, spoiling them and keeping an eye on them with genuine affection all while managing her responsibilities with grace. Even though she was clearly under pressure she never let it show. Her energy, kindness and dedication were beyond anything we've ever experienced in hospitality. She made us feel truly at home and treated every single guest in the lobby with the same level of care and attention. To the hotel managers please make sure this star keeps shining every day. Raouya is a rare gem and we will never forget her. Thank you Raouya keep shining!
