Awful
Dismal experience, the standard room doesn't receive any natural light (none, zero, zip, nada) and offers zero privacy, where guests walking through the hallway look directly into your room. The front desk system has a different inventory than the public facing hyatt.com. A very poorly managed property to avoid.

Premium Hotel
Good service, clean room, decently spacious, nice view of the square. Noise level was surprisingly low given how close to the square it was. Location is PRIME -- can walk to most places worth visiting within 10min.

Best hotel for visiting Madrid
If you’re visiting Madrid this is the hotel to stay at. From the lobby, to the room, to the rooftop bar, this hotel has it all. The pool was still closed when we went in mid February 2026. There’s also an easily navigable parking garage right next to the hotel.

Amazing hotel, but skip the breakfast
I recently stayed at the Thompson for a few days with family and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful and the service is top notch. The hotel is located pretty central in the city and provides very easy access to nice shopping, restaurants, metro stops and easy uber pickups. Everything you need is right there. The other highlight is the service at the hotel. Every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge went out of their way to help me on multiple occasions and was always available when we needed them. The only issue I had with the hotel was with the breakfast. The selection is poor, the coffee is average, and it is really expensive for what you get. They’ll try to get you to pay ahead but it is not worth it.
