More attention to detail is needed

Nestled in an unspoiled oasis of olive groves and vineyards, Es Racò d’Arte delivers on the promise of connecting its guests to the essence and tranquility of nature. Blending minimalist design with soft neutral colors and natural materials of stone, wood, linen and jute, the resort succeeds masterfully in creating an airy sense of well-being. This place is beautiful and we loved the discreet and sober elegance emanating from every room. We wanted to love everything about the hotel but didn’t . . . . What they didn’t deliver was a level of 5 star service in the restaurant. While friendly and informal, the quality of the service was inconsistent - frequently not greeting guests when they entered, loud noises emanating from the kitchen with dishes banging and staff talking loudly amongst themselves, lack of knowledge about wines, forgetting to bring bread, or olive oil or extra plates when sharing entrees. . . During our stay there was a retreat with a large group of guests, and there were also several guests with young children , creating an atmosphere of a noisy cafeteria, rather than a quiet and relaxed space to enjoy dinner . The restaurant is need of a competent F&B Manager. There should be a dedicated room for families so that couples can enjoy a quiet space for themselves. Guests on a retreat should also have their own room separate from the restaurant so as not to disturb other guests. Es Racò d’Artà has a lot of potential and we hope they will live up to what they promise.

Chilling in Majorca

An elegant retreat, casual and unpretentious - exquisite grounds, brilliant infinity pool and spa. Superb architectural landscaping and building restoration. Abundant breakfast al fresco overlooking the grounds. Subdued and respectful fellow visitors. Resto on the expensive side, but a perfect ending to days outdoors wandering, swimming and lazing surrounded by the adjacent mountains.

Second class guests

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

The message I would like to deliver to this hotel is that guests do not like to be treated unequally and they do notice it when it happens. Also because, when it’s time to pay the bill, they don’t make you any discounts. If you during 3 dinners out of 4 you spent at the restaurant you are not given the ‘petits fours’ which appear on the menu and which are given to all the other guests, you do notice it and you are left with the the deeply unpleasant impression you are being treated like a second class guest. Being offered sweets and drinks after you have complained with the management is not going to fix things. I even wrote the management desk an email but at the time of check out they did not address the issues. Apparently, if the staff of the restaurant of what is supposedly a 5 star hotel makes so many mistakes so often, there must be something very bad with the management, which apparently did not teach them well. The hotel itself may be 5 stars, but it is the people who work in and for it who really make the difference. And Es Raco de Arta has a one-star hotel staff.

Bad service, good views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

Pros Views Pools sustainability Architecture & design Cons Service Restaurant Spa The service of the hotel is not that of an $800 a night hotel. A few issues we had are below. I made these known & reception said I’m sorry but I hope you are having a good stay!! - a/c in room didn’t work (they did fix this) - a/c had mold in vents - dinner was fine…we were forgotten about for about 45 mins and then provided the wrong order when we did finally get our food. - massage was the worst I have ever had. Massage therapist was rude & I feel worse than when I came in - we asked for a cart to help us transport luggage down the path & the guy came & got us then jumped off the cart and left us, didn’t say anything at all & was nowhere to be found after checkout - upon arrival I had to ask them to help me book a massage and they forgot As I said, I voiced all of these concerns and the only item that was fixed or helped was the a/c. Truly disappointed in the service I received compared to the bill I paid. Views and design/architecture were beautiful, but that’s the only benefit of this place.

Quite possibly the best hotel in Mallorca

The word hotel doesn’t do justice to this place. Is it a destination? An experience? The aesthetics are so carefully curated, all five senses taken into account. Silence, space, time. This is where you come to wind down, to connect with yourself and with nature. Excellent daily yoga and meditation, hiking, bikes, a great spa, healthy food that is also delicious and good for the soul. Local, simple and balanced. Friendly and genuine service. There is nothing stuffy or scripted here. Everything flows, naturally. You will rest well, eat well, and be well. Mallorquín country lifestyle at its core. Understated, honest, crafted, stunning. A holiday like no other. Thank you Es Raco D’Arta team: Tobias, Tom, Jo and everyone else.
