We had the best time at Shana by the beach. From check in to hanging around the pool. The staff are so helpful and all with a smile. We got an upgrade that was a nice surprise. The room was big and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds are clean the pool that we stayed at was pictures. Short walk to the beach very pleasant. Thank you. Will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed many amenities. Two beautiful pools, gorgeous views everywhere, large, comfortable room and bed. Lovely, helpful staff. Nice breakfast, many menu choices for dinner. A walk down a beautiful and a bit sloping path to the beach.

The day pass is not worth it. They don't allow you to park your vehicle inside the facilities (even though they have enough space), they don't provide towels for enjoying the pool, so it essentially ends up being just paying to eat at their restaurant. There are better food options at other hotels. Overall, the day pass experience feels unwelcoming. I'm leaving out of this negative assessment anything related to the hotel staff (who were very friendly, with the exception of customer service) as my issue is specifically with the day pass policies.

My husband and I had a wonderful 4 night stay here at the end of April/early May. The weather was great during the day and began to pour down rain most every night around 3-5pm which is to be expected during wet season. Saw so many animals and even a very active sloth right from the pool deck! Wanted to give a special shout out to Warner at the pool bar who made our trip so great. He made sure we were well taken care of and went above and beyond hustling even in the pouring rain. Also loved the beach access via private trail to Biesanz Beach. The only downfall is that we didn’t have a car and you are a little stuck here due to the steep hills which is no fault of the hotels, more my not doing enough research. Taxis are $10 no matter how short or far you go, so it does add up. But overall we loved our stay and would return.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for our anniversary. This was a long awaited trip and this hotel did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in we were taken care of. A room with a spectacular view of the ocean and a balcony that hosted the white faced monkeys walking across the railing every night from 5-5:30 pm was ours. There was a beautiful design with towels , balloons, and a Happy Anniversary sign met us! There was also a golf cart only a phone call away to take us to the restaurant or back to our room. Jairo was my favorite driver with the kindness of a saint . It was so nice to have the security guard who would keep track of where we were on a tour so if there was an issue they could help. And the housekeeping and servers in the restaurant were the best. Between the views and the people, it was like Heaven on earth. We will definitely be back! Thank you Shana by the Beach for a stay we will remember forever !
