Nice View, BAD SERVICE!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

This is DEFINITELY NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL. It is telling you as it is, because of the location. In other words, the view. I believe none of the hotels on the port side has the the view of this hotel. But that is about it. Furniture is worn down. The bathroom and the shower are small. Decor is bland. The entry way looks cheap. The hotel is sparkling clean, hosekeeping is nice. Perhaps, the house keeping is the best part. Then, the rooftop restaurant is well ok. The food is not bad. Servers Max and Sterling are nice. But the welcoming host lady with dark hair black rimmed glasses, she is downright a liar. When I walked in on my second night, she said they were full. Turns out I found out there were a few tables later on. For the third night, I asked for a reservation, she told me that they are full again. Apparently, that was a lie. I checked with the reception, they booked me a table with themselves. Then, I go up there for dinner. There were only seven tables, Liar liar pants on fire. Apparently, she LIES as if her usual self. Maybe it is her usual self. She made wait standing a while she was chatting with some other customers on my first night at the hotel. I did not think of it first. But when I heard the lies lies pants on fire lady lie constantly, I realized. She is just very NOT nice. And for a breakfast, I was seated and then left my belongings. When to the buffet when back with my plate, my belongings were toseed to chair, my table was taken to make room for four poeple. No one I asked my permission. The guy who did this told me sit elsewhere with an annoying smile on his face. Oyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Reallyyyyyyyyyyyy. This hotel has a view. That is it. And EXPENSIVE. For this kind of money they should hire NOT LIARS, NOT INCOMPETENTS.

Great place to stay

Professional service, customer focused. Recommendations from the concierge service have been excellent and tailored to our needs . Overall a great place to stay for a short trip with a great location.

Great location, great views. Otherwise just average.

The location along the Vieux Port is excellent, with nice views from the rooms. Easy access to the active port area. The rooms themselves were average and the food was marginal. Not a very impressive lobby, with a very low ceiling. The spa is small and requires reservations. The staff was pleasant.

Spectacular Views from a Nice Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

The best part of this hotel is the amazing views of the Old Port. If you get a room with a terrace, you'll want to sit out there all the time. Same with views from the top floor restaurant here. Literally best views in all of Marseille. Overall, this hotel is probably a 4.6 out of 5, but I rounded up to 5. I think they get a lot of business travelers. The rooms are a little dated, and worn, but not bad. Staff is excellent. Location is very good, it's a short walk to anywhere. The AC is ok, typical of France where it's not easy to cool your room down. Another thing to be aware of...We were there on a Saturday night, and there was an outdoor concert at a bar not far from the hotel, so it was a little noisy until the band finished. No issue on Sunday night, it's probably only a weekend thing. Just be aware. In Marseille, I've stayed here and at Petit Nice. Petit Nice is honestly an overall nicer experience, but it's much farther away from the main area. If you want luxury away from everything, I'd recommend Petit Nice. If you want to stay closer to the main area, with great views, I'd go with Sofitel. Personally, I'd choose Sofitel in the future.

Avoid

The hotel had an event on their top floor. They had advised a week or so before arrival, so i asked to be moved off the top floor to somewhere quiet. The music was unbelievably loud, even four floors below. The base so loud. 4.5 hours. Still ongoing but I'm told will finish at 12.30. A lesson in how to disrespect your guests and trash a brand
