Sofitel Melbourne On Collins

I travel a lot for work and pleasure so I have experienced plenty of great and poor hotel stays over the years. Among others, I know the Melbourne hotel scene quite well, having stayed at the Sofitel for the first time 20 years ago but having also experienced the likes of the Langham, Park Hyatt, Crown Towers and many more. Let's make it simple, of all of those, the Sofitel is my long time favourite and the hotel I tend to choose whenever I can and my latest stay was close to perfection. I'm an ALL Diamond member and had booked two rooms on ultra busy Anzac day weekend. I was contacted by the hotel beforehand as they didn't understand why they had two bookings in my name (that's the Accor website playing tricks! ;) ) but we clarified and arrived after 40 hours of flying to find out that we had been given the best upgrades we could have dreamt of. Nice in room amenity with bottle of wine and cheese plate in my room, Club lounge access, which remained a pleasantly relaxed setting even at such a busy time. The suites were absolutely fantastic and I thoroughly loved the bathology experience after the long flight , which happens to be a very original creation as well as a homage to the city of Grasse. Check in staff, Club staff, housekeeping staff and everyone was just super nice. In short, that stay was perfect and I can't wait to be back to the hotel... tomorrow! Thanks for giving us such a perfect stay and treating us so well as diamond members.

This is a fantastic hotel. Great location, Extremely comfortable, quiet, and spacious rooms. Very accommodating and pleasant staff. Close to everything in the CBD and South Bank area. Has a small mall attached with 4-5 take away small food and coffee options, among a few other small clothing boutiques and a boutique movie theatre.

We have just stayed at the Sofitel for 6 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. We requested a room on a high level and had stunning views from floor 48. The views are amazing both day and night. The room is spacious and very comfortable - 3 comfortable chairs, a small table for dining (we had room service on 2 nights) and a very comfortable bed. We had breakfast each morning on the 35 floor - again - stunning views (complete with hot air balloons drifting past). Every staff member we met was friendly, very polite and competent. The hotel has a French vibe - and most appropriately as this part of the city is always referred to as the "Paris end" of Melbourne - surrounded by beautiful shops. The Melbourne tram stops right outside the hotel. Our family met us for breakfast one morning and could park in the valet-parking at the hotel. Overall - a delightful hotel of very high quality in every respect.
