Gorgeous Views

We were upgraded to a very spacious suite with an incredible panoramic view of Mexico City, and, overall, we had a lovely stay. The staff was friendly and polite, and most spoke English very well. (I do try to speak in the local language as much as possible when I travel, but this is still a plus for most.) Our rooms were kept very clean, and we were generously supplied with bottled water for drinking. Valet staff was helpful, kind, and reliable throughout our stay, and I always felt extremely safe in this location. The handmade tamarind balls in the lobby were one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. Do try them if you have a chance. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that I found the food in the beautiful restaurant to be mediocre. We were offered free breakfasts, but ended up going out instead for tastier fare. My main complaint is that the food was served at more of a lukewarm temperature than I would have liked, and the offerings just weren't that compelling. I think international hotels like this have a hard time trying to please everyone and can end up consequently a little bland. It was also a little disappointing that the windows (given that almost all the exterior walls here are windows) had not been recently washed, but window-washing must be a death-defying job here, so, really, I understand.

Modern Hotel

Stayed in park view jr suite with 2 queen beds. Suite was perfect size for our family of 4. Very modern and hi-tech, everything worked perfectly. Concierge Fransisco was very helpful during our stay. We stayed 2 nights at Sofitel a week earlier and we preferred the the room at the Ritz Carlton slightly more.

Have to jump into bed.

This used to be my go to hotel when I’m having to work in the financial district. However, the last few stays have been subpar. I originally stayed here when it first opened. I was really impressed with the service but since has slipped a bit. Well today it has reached a low. I requested a room with a working desk so I could take some comfortably work on my computer. I should’ve just asked for the smallest room in the hotel because I believe that’s what they gave me. I wish I was exaggerating, but I can’t even get in my bed from the left-hand side, without having to jump a pillar. I wish the Ritz CDMX would listen more to customer requests.

Excellent service

The service was excellent but a few other things could be improved. We stayed in a room with a terrace - it had amazing views. The amenities in the room were fabulous as you’d expect. However, as other reviewers noted, the water from the shower leaks all over the bathroom floor. Also, only the rain shower head worked for us which was annoying to me. Sound proofing in the room could be improved. We heard music and foot steps from other rooms and chatter from the hallways. For vegans - the enchiladas verdes made vegan were AMAZING (breakfast/lunch) As was the watermelon appetizer (dinner). The cauliflower main was good as well.

Top notch

Stayed for 4 nights. Had a room on the 42nd floor with spectacular views and a great balcony. Bathroom was very well appointed, separate tub/shower and Diptyque toiletries. There's a nice gym, sauna and small pool - all of them with the same amazing views. Service is really outstanding. Also had dinner at the restaurant and it was great. Would definitely return!
