About the Hotel

Situated in an historic 1882 building, Auberge du Vieux-Port boasts an illustrious past intrinsically linked to that of modern-day Montreal. Enjoying a close proximity to the St. Lawrence River, this former warehouse lay abandoned until 1995 when it was acquired and transformed into the jewel it is today. Now, this restored Old Montreal landmark offers an optimal location, refined accommodations and prize-winning French cuisine at the intimate Les Remparts.

Je T’Aime Montréal!

Everything about this hotel is wonderful. Started with the valet Thierry who was polite, attentive and professional. He was a great way to start our trip. Went to the spa for a facial and massage and was taken care of by Maria. Another wonderful experience! Thanks to all the staff who we dealt with!! And I can’t forget Stephen at Pincette who was fun and happy to suggest places around Montreal to eat at and visit

Lovely hotel

Rooms were very nice. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Fireplace in lobby was beautiful. Breakfast was also good. Rooms were very clean. Held our luggage for us, which made it much easier for us to sight-see before check-in.

Exquisite. But Riverside = roadside.

This hotel is truly outstanding. The service of the staff, the aesthetic, all the details. A cut above the rest. Only reason for 4 stars is that I paid extra for a riverside signature room (compared to the St. Paul street side), but the first floor room was more like a roadside room. The traffic did calm down at night but was otherwise noisy. Around 7am on Wednesday morning a loud truck sat outside pumping something out for about an hour. All this said I would happily return and try a room on the (hopefully quieter) St Paul side.

What a beautiful and peaceful hotel with a homely feel. Kind helpful staff. Excellent position. Many interesting shops and restaurants nearby. Good breakfast. Spacious characterful rooms. Beds comfy. Wish we’d stayed longer! We’ll be back!

Great place to visit!

Everything was well done and prepared for guests. The restaurant had great food. The beds were well appointed but they were soft. Showers were updated and water pressure with the warmth of the water was great. The personnel were professional and attentive. I liked the provided shampoos and soaps.

In November, 2004, we stayed in Montreal at the Auberge du Vieux Port in Old Montreal. The inn is right on the St. Lawrence in a beautifully restored building in a charming section of the city. Staff were accommodating, friendly and informative in helping us make dining and sightseeing plans. We would highly recommend a visit to the Auberge du Vieux Port!
