Great location, needs repairs and updating

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

Nice old hotel but basically a 3 star. Our room was 1990's colors (brown). Furniture was cheap and worn out, satellite reception was poor, coffee machine in room failed, door lock failed, phone chargers worked intermittently, continental breakfast was sadly lacking (not as good as Super 8). Staff was great. Friendly, helpful, accommodating. $400cdn/night with taxes. Spend another $100 and get a 5 star.

Individual, cosy, arty

Nice to stay in a place which is „off the track“ compared to big chaines and „uniformed“ hotels Great deco, hotel full of art, kind staff, rooms cosy and well equipped. Location really good being in between the old part of town and the modern shopping area. Great restaurant just down the road… Breakfast could have a wider choice (bread/baguette and cheese/ham would be good).

Quirky, but average.

We liked the location close to the Old Town, metro and port. The hotel is quirky, with interesting art work throughout. Our ‘premier’ king room was hardly that with no bedside cabinet/table, and limited refreshment option, (two coffee capsules and no milk). A very comfortable bed did give us good quality rest, but the internal ‘courtyard’ room was uninspiring. The included breakfast is very limited and poor in quality. Reception staff were helpful, but in a grudging way, and had forgotten to order our taxi, although that was quickly remedied as we allowed plenty of time to travel to the airport. For the room rate, more would be expected.

Lovely ambience at this hotel and super helpful and friendly staff. Yummy continental breakfast and the hotel is located near everything -great restaurants within 2 blocks and tons of stuff about a 5 minute walk. It was a real pleasure to stay here and I want to bring my husband back!
