The Charles Hotel Munich

I had an amazing stay at The Charles Hotel. The staff is very accommodating and overall very nice. Special thanks to Michi from Concierge and Elsa from the spa for making our stay memorable.

An extremely positive experience staying in this hotel recently for three nights with family. The location is great - beside a lovely park and just a short walk to the centre of Munich. Right by the central train statin too for connections farther afield. The check in was pleasant and professional. Indeed as others have commented, all interactions with staff were of the highest quality. Returning to breakfast after the first morning and returning to the bar in the evening after the first evening and our orders had been remembered by the relevant staff who wondered if we wanted the same again. The public areas are lovely with really beautiful fresh flower displays. The rooms were large and clean with lots of extra touches to enhance them. We had forgotten a couple of items and replacements were sourced very quickly by reception! We enjoyed the breakfasts and particularly the ambience which was a great way to start the day. i would highly recommend this excellent hotel.

Superb hotel. Bed was extremely comfortable. Room was very quiet. The staff, however, was what really stood out. From check in, restaurant, spa and check out, every single member of staff were a joy. They couldn’t do enough for us and treated us like old favourites. Best staff experience in a hotel. Thank you.

Awesome hotel, magnificent furnishings and decor, fantastic food and service, great rooms and location. Loved every moment of our 4 day stay. Concierge very helpful with tours. Will stay here again on our next visit.

I stayed at The Charles Hotel in Munich for three nights and, overall, the experience was wonderful. The location is excellent—right by beautiful gardens and just a 19-minute walk to Old Town Marienplatz. The rooms, service, and atmosphere were exceptional. I highly recommend making an appointment at their Michelin-starred spa—I had a deep tissue massage that was truly the best I’ve ever experienced. The spa staff were outstanding and made the experience unforgettable. However, the breakfast buffet was a major disappointment. It was overcrowded, understaffed, and the food frequently ran out. The atmosphere was tense, with many guests visibly upset. After the first morning, I chose to skip breakfast entirely to avoid the negative experience. When I mentioned this to management at checkout, the response was simply that they were aware and that other guests had complained as well. It’s such a shame, because aside from the breakfast buffet, this property could easily be considered a true 5-star hotel.
