A Blend of Excellence and Disappointment
I recently stayed at The Oberoi and had a mixed experience. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff at the reception was extremely courteous and prompt in attending to our special requests, which I truly appreciated. The hotel ambience was elegant and welcoming, and the in-room dining food was of exceptional quality and taste, definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The room-service staff and overall hospitality at the reception were polite and helpful throughout. However, I did face a couple of disappointments: - The room service was a bit slow, which was unexpected given the reputation of Oberoi properties. - The real let-down, though, was our experience at the residence lounge during evening cocktail hours. The staff there was not at all welcoming. They asked us three times for our room number to confirm our access to the lounge. While I understand the need to verify access once, repeatedly asking felt excessive and uncomfortable, creating an unwelcoming and unpleasant experience. This encounter left such a negative impression that I chose to skip the breakfast buffet the next morning, which is unfortunate because I had high expectations based on my positive experiences at other Oberoi properties. It’s this inconsistency in service particularly in the lounge, that made this stay fall short of the typically excellent Oberoi standards.

It was our first experience at the property and frankly, it exceeded all expectations. There was a classy personal touch to their service from the time we handed our vehicle to the friendly valet for parking to the moment we stepped out for our return journey with Priya, the charming lady at the front desk giving us a warm send off . The 'professional' merged beautifully with the 'personal' to give us a unique and nearly unparalleled experience during our stay which was marked by delectable food, incredible hospitality, the almost uncanny anticipation of our every need , the effortless ease with which the personnel walked that 'extra mile' to make our stay truly memorable. The rooms "with a view" were the icing on the cake, one must add.

Friendly and courteous staff. Exemplary service. Attention to details Great food and catering to custom needs ( low spice, low oil, lactose and gluten free food) Strongly recommend. I am a Oberoi one member and this is the hotel of first preference when in south Mumbai
