Consider yourselves in good company when you check into the Taj Mahal Palace. With its fantasyscape of Moorish, Oriental and Florentine styles, this architectural marvel has welcomed Maharajas, kings and presidents since opening in 1903. Along with panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the Gateway of India, this spectacular Mumbai landmark boasts vaulted alabaster ceilings, onyx columns, hand-woven silk carpets and a magnificent art collection whose dazzling pieces range from Belgian chandeliers to Goan Christian artifacts.

I visited the Taj Mahal Palace for the first time today to meet a friend who was staying there, and we planned to dine at the Shamiana restaurant. While waiting in the lobby, a lobby associate asked me to move and directed me to another area, even though she knew there was no seating available there. This left me standing uncomfortably until my friend arrived. For a brand like Taj, known for its hospitality, this was quite a disappointing first experience.

What a gem, this is the jewel of Mumbai. The hotel is steeped in history, and from the moment you arrive, you are treated with such warmth and hospitality. The welcome ritual is beautiful, and the room was stunning. The Indian restaurant Loya was outstanding, the best Indian food I have ever ate!!! Every member of staff is wonderful. The heritage tour was fantastic, our tour guide ( Prabhakar) was a darling, he is passionate about his job and made the tour so much fun! I can't say anything negative about the hotel, it is 5 star all the way! I would highly recommend a visit!

A hotel that deserves its reputation with great staff with a blend of tradition and modern service. Every aspect of the hotel has a history with staff who take pride in their work.

We had a wonderful time at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. Everything went smoothly upon arrival and we immediately began to feel very relaxed and stress-free after our long journey to Mumbai. Nidhee Tandel had arranged to have a welcome cake and a personal handwritten welcome greeting in our elegant room that made us feel very pampered and welcome. The view of the harbor and Gateway to India from the three-window sitting area were fantastic. The staff was very friendly, professional and efficient, and took care of all our needs. Even walking in the halls was a great experience. We enjoyed seeing all the historical exhibits, artwork, statues, jewelry, and pictures of famous visitors of the past. The staff throughout the hotel pleasantly greeted us and inquired how we were doing, gave us tips for restaurants, other services, activities, things to do in the hotel and external sightseeing opportunities. The restaurants had wonderful chef's that know how make delicious world-class meals. We looked forward to the amazing breakfast buffet every morning. Truly an outstanding experience at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.

Hospitality at its best. We did not just stay at the hotel; we experienced and lived history. We stepped in to a time machine. The food is amazing. The staff is amazing. The aura is amazing. The property is amazing. There's a story behind each structure/embellishment.
