Bavarian Tradition

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I stay frequently at Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, and it always feels like a second home. The location is perfect, and the staff provide that warm, traditional Bavarian hospitality that makes every visit special. I love that the hotel keeps improving with thoughtful renovations to the rooms. My absolute favorite moment is starting the day with breakfast on the rooftop—such a wonderful way to enjoy the city.

Top hotel, great location, excellent staff, 4th floor suite pleasance surprise.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Excellent service as we arrived curb side, reception very pleasant , suite on 4th floor nicely refurbished, modern certainly a big change from the " ol' Bayerisch style ". For lunch we went up to 7th floor, sat outside in the scorching sun with a view to the ' Frauen Kirche ' with the two towers. Breakfast was on 6th floor, seating available out on the terrace if wished. Dinning room staff were in abundance, always pleasant & smiling. Excellent hot/cold buffet, kitchen available for individual wishes. The hotel in under construction/remodelling in different areas so be aware of certain changes since your last visit. PS. When large groups are being checked-in you might have to wait awhile before your bags are brought up to your room ( in our case we had to wait over an hour for our luggage ).

Depressingly Gray

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We recently stayed at the Bayerischer Hof and frankly, I don’t get the hype. The design choices throughout the hotel felt oddly cold and lifeless. The walls were painted a relentlessly depressing gray, from the bedroom to the bathroom to the hallways—no warmth, no contrast, just gray. The rooms had little to no artwork, which only amplified the bunker-like vibe. The hallway lighting was dim and moody, not in a chic way but more like something out of a minimalist correctional facility. And then there’s the bizarre lineup of couches in the hallways. For some reason, there are chairs and loveseats randomly parked along the corridors like it’s a fraternity house that couldn’t find storage. (See photo—this isn’t an exaggeration.) This may be a five-star hotel on paper, but in practice, it felt more like a design experiment gone wrong. We were hoping for Bavarian charm, or at least some warmth. Instead, we got a concrete-and-felt aesthetic with zero personality. * But, Michael the bartender in falk’s Bar was a true joy! * Disappointed overall.

Our happy place!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Last weekend I returned to Munich with my son in order to have two fun days in our favorite German city! ;-) Since day 1 we book these trips to Munich it`s the Bayerische Hof we choose for our stay. Never been disappointed so far which is why we return to this gorgeous hotel time and again. Not only the interior, the service and beautiful Munich outside the window but also that incredibly nice staff we meet makes this place so special! We will definitively return which is what we did monthly since January this year. See you soon, happy place! <3 We will return in June!
