Sofitel Munich Bayerpost

I was so excited to stay here on our honeymoon, but was completely disappointed. Our first room was beautiful, but smelled like dog urine, so I requested to be moved. The woman at the desk made me feel like I was asking her a big favor to change rooms. The second room that they put us in was so small, you could barely move around. The bathrooms have no privacy - a sliding glass door that will either cover the shower or the toilet room, and not enough room to even turn around in. It is also right next to the entry of the Hbf train station, with homeless people laying in the entryway. The pool is very cool, but filled with small children splashing around. I would not classify this as a 4 star hotel.

We stayed at the Sofitel for a few days and had an excellent stay. The hotel front desk was friendly, helpful, and excellent. Upon checkout, I did not realize I left behind items in the safe. The hotel manager contacted me immediately upon discovery; however, I was already in a different country. Over the next few days, they worked with me to mail my items back to me in the U.S. They went above and beyond with assistance. Other pros: we booked via our Amex and enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

Stayed for 3 nights with an offer for free 3rd night. Very impressive property with a nice front office lounge, restaurant, walkway to restaurant, huge lounges on floor zero as well as -1 which houses banquets, I guess. Check in and check out were friendly and quick too. Alex’ interactions while checking in as well as checking out were very polite and friendly. Room was spacious with a very nice wash place with tub and showers. Adequate stock was provided in coffee station along with drinking water. Well stocked mini bar too. Very friendly staff in breakfast place too. As a person with special food needs, can not complain about the menu which looked a big spread. Nice ambience too. Also had drinks/ice cream at the lounge bar which too is nice and was almost full with guests. Though did not use, visited their spa and the facilities were very impressive too. 2 minutes walk away from Munich central rail station. Had some issues with house keeping on room cleaning. The issue was sorted out with polite response by Aram as well as by House keeping head. But the front office phone was not answered in spite of many attempts, forcing me to go down to reception, wait needlessly in a queue along with people who were checked in, just to lodge a complaint about the issue. That is not expected in a hotel of this class and tariff. That was of course a minor minus point compared to all the beautiful pluses. If another opportunity arises, will stay again for sure Strongly recommended. Ganesh J Mumbai, India

We enjoyed every aspect of this property. We arrived early and were granted early check in. Since we booked with AMEX, breakfast was included each morning and it was amazing. Rooms were large and clean with a separated bathroom area. Included nice extra touches like Nespresso machine, tea kettle and turndown service. The service was excellent from the time we arrived until the time we left. There is some construction at the train station so that is a bit tough to navigate walking around, but was in a great central location.

Excellent hotel with wonderful amenities. Our room was well appointed, spacious and housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping it clean and replenished. The breakfast was also excellent, with very helpful and attentive staff. The guest relations officer was very helpful as well as the front desk staff. We also had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager as we departed who is clearly doing an outstanding job of ensuring guests are well taken care of. We loved our stay at this Sofitel and would return again without hesitation.
