Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

Great views and beautiful property. All bathrooms on the property are very well maintained. Everything is outrageously overpriced and food is hard to come by without reservations. There aren’t nearly enough activities available/included outside of the beach/pools/waterpark. Staff were friendly for the most part. I’ve provided greater detail on my google review.

Wonderful place to relax and have fun pool and beach side. Suite at the SLS has been perfect for our family. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating — especially Samantha (and others) at the H2O bar!

We just spent five nights at Baha Mar and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Based on the reviews, I went in expecting wildly overpriced food and mediocre service, and while there is some truth to that, I was, on the whole, pleasantly surprised. I would absolutely return. Pros: - The waterpark is really spectacular. There is something for everyone - little kids, thrill-seeking teams, lazy adults. We spent time here every day. - The beach is gorgeous. The water is crystal clear and there was not a problem of seaweed as there sometimes is on other islands. We're not avid snorkelers, but there was enough marine life to keep us interested. We spotted sea turtles, rays, a number of fish and even a manatee during our stay! - The food is quite good - if extremely expensive. We enjoyed dinners at Katsuya (our favorite food), Marcus (our favorite service), and Costa (our favorite setting). Just be prepared for sticker shock. Lunch is more reasonable, especially if you take advantage of the food trucks. If you are Globalist with Hyatt, the Regatta breakfast buffet is a huge perk - we enjoyed this every day of our stay. - Service at the restaurants is very good. I was really impressed by all of our servers - they were friendly, professional and very attentive. Meh: - The rooms are fine. We had a fountain view with two queens, which was enough room for a family of three but might have been tight with one more kid. I asked about an upgrade when I checked in but was told nothing was available (despite multiple rooms showing as available on the app). - Housekeeping is hit or miss. Our expectations were managed here as this is a HUGE resort, and not five stars, but there were little mistakes every day (no washcloths, garbage not emptied, etc.). Not a huge annoyance but an area for improvement for sure. - Service on the beach can be slow - but nothing outside the bounds of island time. - Check your bill at checkout - our comped breakfast and resort fees showed up on our final invoice and I had to spend some time getting these charges reversed (though the staff was extremely responsive and apologetic about this).

My group and I stayed at this beautiful resort for eight days! We were able to have a wonderful balance of resort life and Bahamian culture all in one! We also were able to see outside of the resort and experience for the people as well as the countries wonderful hospitality! Special shout out to my new dear friend Fredesha. She was assigned to our room for the entire state and was nothing short of spectacular. We had all of our requests answered within a professional and timely manner! Not to mention, she remained professional, kind and overall a joy to be around, making our stay that much easier! If you ever have to question, which resort you are thinking of, Baha Mar is it. It’s family, friendly, very clean, and humongous with many things to do throughout your stay! Thank you again to the wonderful staff and I can’t wait to see you all again.!

We just arrived and Mavtique was fabulous at check in. We arrived before check in and were lucky enough to get upgraded to the reserve since it had a room that was ready and we had a baby (who needed a nap 🤣). We were so grateful for this kind gesture. I’ve heard mixed reviews so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but if the rest of our stay is as smooth as check-in I don’t think we’ll be disappointed! Thank you again!
