Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

The service is average. They want you to leave the minute you show up to any restaurant but leave an extra tip. We showed up to our room at 6 pm and it still hadn’t been cleaned. They asked if we had a reservation and they would clean it then unacceptable.

I have been a Hyatt member for several years and even a globalist the last few years. I am always pleased with my Hyatt experiences, however, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar was a big disappointment to all of my family. And to top that, it was incredibly expensive compared to other Hyatt properties we have visited. Food and drink cost was outrageous. Most evening meals were easily over $50 per person with food and drink. And if you don't make reservations weeks before you arrive, it is very challenging to even get a reservation when you arrive. The pool area was a huge disappointment as we could not find "complimentary" chairs that my family of 6 could use and still be together. Reserved chairs were over $60 each. Going to the adult pool was a joke because it was surrounded by cabanas that ranged between $200 to $400 or more on certain days. If you wanted to sunbath at the adult pool without purchasing a cabana, you were out of luck unless you got one of the approximiately 10 complimentary chairs there. One evening we waited 45 minutes for a table in a bar on the resort only to be kicked out by a famous person who was escorted to our table. There was no "reserved" sign posted, however, we were told it was "reserved." We are a paying guest as well! No assistance in finding us another spot to sit. The majority of staff were rude and not helpful, felt that I was a burden to them for being on their property ( very unlike other Hyatt properties). I spent over an hour explaining my concerns to a manager on property who indicated he would address my concerns with some type of adjustment to my bill by the end of that day. No adjustment was made. I followed up 1 day later. He again confirmed he would take care of it on my bill. Returned home an sent 4 follow-up emails with no response from the manger whom I spoke with. Corporate Hyatt did properly address my concerns immediately when I spoke with them. Absolutely would not recommend this property to anyone I know. There are far better options available through Hyatt for less cost and significantly better service. Very disappointed!

Fabulous resort, large selection of amazing restaurants. Our favorite was chop house by Marcus. Just beware the prices of the food there is insanely expensive. Be prepared to spend a few hundred dollars a day per couple.

Our stay was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The ocean and pools are amazing. Everything is incredibly expensive but to me expected at a resort. Overall, great time!

Hotel - clean, friendly, gym is huge and modern. Spa is super nice and you can get a day pass to use the sauna. Casino is fun. There are a million pools and the flamingos and sea turtles were so awesome. Our kids are younger teens and the weekend we went was skewed much younger (so many strollers) but we rented a cabana at the water park and it was a ton of fun (easy walk to get to water park). Super relaxing weekend. Additionally, Hyatt went above and beyond in resolving a duplicate booking I made and really made me feel valued. There are other options at the property (i.e. the SLS Baha Mar) but the way Hyatt followed through for me in their service means I would only stay there when we go back.
