Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

My friend and I went for a quick weekend. Little did we know a major snowstorm was going to shut down most of the east coast. We had to cut our trip short in order to get a flight home. We had a great time from check in to check out and had excellent service for the 2 days that we were there. We rented a lounge chair at Baha bay beach club and it was worth every penny. 5 star service all day! When we found out we had to leave a day early we saw Tikoiya the morning of our checkout. She was super accommodating and helpful!!! Kudos to all the front desk staff that helped us. We ate in Cleo and Marcus and it was my second time eating in these restaurants and it was just as amazing as the first time. Can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful beach, wonderful pools and swimming park was legitimately awesome. There was general staff disdain for my existence, and annoyed with customers at almost every encounter. Something I never experienced in Cancun resorts. very expensive food that was never bad but never as good as you would hope for the money. Room was nice. At checkout I found out they gave me the wrong room and charged me for a more expensive room I didn't get. They essentially called me a liar for an hour and half and said there was nothing they would do to fix this $420 discrepancy. When discussing taking this to social media a wonderful lady showed up and fixed this issue at the last second.

Had a rediculously hard time checking in, staff didnt take care of me even though i have documented email requests and none were given. Staff around the hotel were cold and carried around a certain attitude (obviously with exceptions). lines to get get breakfast were a little crazy, with not other accomadations to try and shorten other lines. Overall, my second time going, and i do not feel like i will be going back.

The best service we received on the entire property was Samantha at the Palms. The vibe was great and she ensured the experience was too tier

Location 5/5 Atmosphere 4/5 ( music playing outside by the pools would have helped) Rooms 3/5 ( very clean, however very small) Value (1/5) ( everything was unnecessarily expensive, however, it was nice that the waterpark was included in the daily resort fee) Cleanliness 5/5 Noise Level - during the day 5/5, from 7-10pm on the fountain side however, 1/5- that music that goes along with the fountain is crazy loud- glad a shut door keeps most of the noise out, but it would have been nice to have the door open during those hours Service- 2/5- front desk was fine, the housekeeping staff was polite, however, the rest of the staff never smiled or greeted us professionally. Amenities - pools 5/5, beach 5/5, waterpark 5/5. Overall, we will be back, but we will be better prepared.
