Over-all great experience at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Tips/observations after staying 3 nights with 2 adults and one teenager: -we shared an ocean-view room, 18th floor of the East Tower - room was spacious and very fresh/clean. The hotel provides souvenir steel water bottles & has filtered water stations across the property, so no need to buy bottled water -we dined our first night at Costa in the Rosewood complex - excellent food, service & ambiance - well worth the price (about $110/person) -our second 'splurge' dinner was at Cinko - was adequate but service/food not worth the cost -we really enjoyed the Pizza Lab on our last night - great service & food, and an excellent value ($50/person) + nice to sit outside -only one real complaint: Baha Mar needs to up its coffee game. There is nowhere to go that doesn't involve a 20-30+ minute wait. Best/fastest service and selection was Cafe Madeleine in the West tower - would also try the Studio Cafe out by the pools. Simply put: it's unreasonable to devote so much of your vacation time just to buy a $10 cup of coffee. -We played pickleball & tennis each day and the facilities are excellent and both clay/hard tennis courts are available. Do book in-advance & best to start pickleball by 8am before the wind picks up. If you're going to play more than once bring your own racquets/paddles and balls + court shoes are required. -Take advantage of the free bocce pitch & the mini golf course is worth the price ($30/person) as it's quite challenging. We didn't play on the real golf course but friends tell us it's good. -We rented a covered beach bed our first day - well-worth it for sun protection and a chill place to enjoy. Towel staff were friendly & helpful (do tip them), and we hit the food trucks for lunch (tho again, long waits) at El Jefe & Streetbird. Fast food at Baha Bay also looked good. The family poolside cabanas didn't hold much appeal for us (noisy and very $), but I noticed the Baha Bay cabanas face the ocean & infinity pool and could be worth booking. -the waterpark, Baha Bay, is excellent - very well run with attentive staff, super clean facilities & reasonable waits (on weekdays). The surfing simulator was the highlight, and we did line up one morning about 20 minutes before opening (10am) to get the first crack at it. Once you wait in line and pass the beginner section, you can repeatedly ride the more advanced wave. The big slides are also well-run and the lazy river is a fun spot to unwind. -there's lots of shopping across the resort, and of course it's what you'd expect - expensive! But the Island Essentials shop in Baha Bay has a good variety of branded rash guards, sun hats, etc as well as souvenirs at reasonable prices. The racquets shop also has some nice Baha Mar logo tennis clothing. -do be sure you have the Hyatt app installed as it will speed check-in/out tremendously (there was a 30+ minute line when we were leaving) -finally, if you have the time do consider taking a taxi to see downtown Nassau - the Straw Market and shops on Bay Street - and eat somewhere local like the Poop Deck or Spritz's pizza in Sandyport + check out the nearby Sports Center for surf/pool clothing (Sandyport is just 10 mins from Baha Mar). It's worth the time/effort and minimal cost to experience a small taste of life outside the resort. -enjoy!

The hotel was beautiful with so many things to do and places to eat. The staff was all so friendly and accommodating, especially Antone, Don, and Kenya.

Went with kids in March, Stayed in the Reserve. Although my kids over-all had a great time, it was super stressful for me with terrible service, too many people, and too many screw ups. *Arrival -- We have booked a car thru the hotel. It took us to the main entrance instead of the Reserve where we had booked (there is a separate entrance). *Only one person working the front desk at the reserve - where the service is meant to be elevated. We waited 50 minutes to check in after 7 hours of travel. *The nice man who checked us in took us to the rooms bc no bell men avail. Wrist keys don't work. He leaves us and has two new made. They still don't work. He goes again. Finally we get into the room close to two hours after arriving. *We had a suite and had asked for rollaways multiple times - on the reservation itself, on the phone the day we traveled. There were none in the room. We asked for them to be delivered. *Three hours later - still no rollaways. We call housekeeping. "They will be right up." *An hour later, no rollaway. Housekeeping claims no record of a request. *Finally by ten PM at night, I melt down on the phone (my kids are exhausted). The manager says he will send some. He tells me the staff is claiming they brought the beds. This is basically the tone for the whole week -- everyone super friendly, but nothing works well. *Restaurants - you HAVE To make a dinner res bc there are too many people and not enough spots. But if you don't cancel 24 hours in advance you are charged. BUT most spots do not seat you on time. Twice we waiting close to an hour past our res at the swimming pig. Many other guests had the same complaint: if you miss your res by 15 minutes, you are charged a fee. But if the restaurant makes you wait 15 minutes or an hour, well that is just bc "our system took too many bookings. *Everything is an upcharge. *On the last night, I got a notice saying my flight the next AM was delayed, I went downstairs to ask them to push my car pick up by an hour. They told me they couldn't -- even though I made the res through them. "That is an outside vendor and the conceirge is closed." They didn't even have the number of the car service. They told me to come down at 5 (my original pick up time) and tell the valet I want to leave at 6 -- which defeats the whole purpose. A manager spends thirty minutes looking for the number for the car service the hotel itself booked..... This is what everything is like. My kids love the water park and the beach and the pools and the food. But this hotel is simply too big, too massive, to provide service that matches the cost.

We stayed in the Reserve section of the Grand Hyatt and it is worth every penny! The staff was helpful, nice and the room was great. We loved the included breakfast every morning and the happy hour! It was also nice to have a private lounge for arrival and departure. I would only stay at the Reserve section when I went back - loved it!

We just returned from our spring break and came in reading a lot of reviews and mentally preparing ourselves. We ended up loving our stay after we were able to swallow the crazy food prices. We are hyatt globalists so our breakfast was included as well as 2 drink vouchers for every day. The breakfast was ok once you found what you liked, we stuck to the made to order omelette and pancake stations as well as the yogurt bar. Our waitress Melekah was so sweet and would remember us each day and come over just to say hi even though she didn't have our table. It took us a bit to get our footing, but once we did, we found our favorite pool was the fortune pool in the middle. We found the temperature to be perfect, had an attached hot tub, and a swim up bar. The bar staff was great as well. We loved Rayvantante! Make sure to check the daily itinerary of family events. They are well run and my kids loved the activities. THe pool food seemed to be the best bang for your buck. The kids were able to eat free as long as we ordered something for an adult.
