The Reef at Atlantis

We stayed at The Reef at Atlantis and overall had a wonderful time! The resort is beautiful, and our room was spacious and well-kept. The Reef is a bit removed from the main hub of activity—expect about a 10–15 minute walk to The Royal, or you can wait for the shuttle at the lobby (though sometimes the wait can be longer than the walk). If you’re traveling with little ones (especially under 5), I’d recommend booking at The Royal since it’s much more convenient—restaurants, pools, and attractions are right there. A few helpful tips for future guests: • Dining is on the pricey side, so budget ahead. • Every bill automatically includes a 10% surcharge + 15% tip. • The resort is cashless (credit card or room charge only), so keep your receipts to stay organized. Overall, I give it 5 stars—not just for the resort itself, but because the employees truly make the experience. Everyone we encountered was happy, welcoming, and so helpful. I’ll happily pay the price any day to be surrounded by such amazing people.

Atlantis is the perfect family destination and the Reef has an awesome 2 bedroom sweet for a family of 5. Plenty of space for all of us. Activities that met the different needs of everyone.

My husband and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. The weather was great. The hotel was amazing and the staff was wonderful. It was a great experience that we would like to do again with all of our family members in the future.

Service is below acceptable especially if travelling with babies. Housekeeping service needs a lot of improvement and the rooms are quite dated and in dire need of renovation. Carpets and sofas are stained. Our lights kept flickering and going off, the phones were working on and off as well as the dnd sign which they tried to fix but never manage to for our entire duration (2 weeks stay)

The reef at the Atlantis is rated a 4.5-5 star hotel and it’s anything but. In my experience what most hotels lack in one area, they lack in one area makes up for it in another. My family’s experience was less than stellar, and I’m being diplomatic and kind.. it was an expensive and overall regretful stay that will not be repeated. Pros- Clean Sufficient activities Lovely beach Laundry facilities Cons- 1. Food Horrible food- taste, appeal, plating, flavoring, Expensive food options. Chopstix is the worst option there is. Save your money. Poor choices/ limited availability. No island feel Lack of freshness of ingredients - I even got jarred halapenos that weren’t even chopped in my omelette. Good at silan- had the branzino it came with no sauce, no salsa, no vegetables, no salad and not a hint of fresh citrus.. lumpy mash potatoes with oil fish and fried capers. Yuck. Inconsistency in menus Poor service Pricing is through the roof. 2. Service- We witnessed waiters arguing in front of other patrons and with each other Orders missed- waited 1 hour for food at Claudio’s because order was never entered..No apologies or acknowledgment or compensation for time.. Incorrect order applied- no apology or compensation Inconsistent vip service / concierge service Lack of towels RUDE and incompetent guest support services Front desk couldn’t read a bill properly. Had no consideration for clients time, flight times. Couldn’t answer basic questions.. Overpriced taxis Gratuities automatically applied for horrible service to which taxes are added. 3. Other Water has a strange smell- it’s desalinated water. Drinking water is expensive- get your own. Grab towels early it runs out and they close the towel huts at 6 pm Bar closes at 6pm Get food offsite. It’s time these celebrity chefs start cooking at their restaurants. Obviously this isn’t possible but the quality control has slipped and it’s a shame that their names and fine dining is being peddled for what is worse in flavoring, consistency, value than anything I’ve ever experienced. Ps: hire the chefs from Hyatt ..
