The Reef at Atlantis

Spent seven beautiful days with my girls in Paradise Island, Atlantis- Reef. From the moment we stepped foot into the property we were greeted with amazing butler team who made sure that any wish became reality which added an extra experience of comfort when we thought that was not possible. No one does it like Atlantis!

My family and I (my sister and 2 children - 8 and 5) spent 6 nights at the Reef this past week. Upon arrival, our room was ready. When we walked in we noticed a foul smell. It appeared to be coming from the bathroom. We called the front desk and they sent up someone from housekeeping. She didn’t smell it at first, but then realized it was coming from the drains. She said she would send up maintenance to take a look. When we arrived back to the room, the smell was still there. I went down to the front desk and they said there was a “change room” order placed. Thankfully, a room was procured (even though we had 2 double beds originally - the new room had a king and a pull out sofa). It was late and we agreed. The next morning we noticed that the window between the bathroom and the bedroom wouldn’t close all the way. Called the front desk and they sent someone up immediately. It was fixed within a few hours. Overall, the hotel rooms need some maintenance, but was nice. The grounds and beach are beautiful and quiet. Even the pool was nice and quiet. Looking at the Royal, we made a good choice for our family because it was crowded and loud in that area. Jessica at the front desk was kind and accommodating. Everyone at Atlantis was extremely nice. The security was excellent as well. Always checking to make sure you had your wrist band on. One thing Atlantis markets is “kids eat free.” We took advantage of this at all the locations it was available (Seafire, Bimini Road, Poseidons Table, Cocodrilo, Silan). One thing to note is you have to charge the meal to your room to get the discount. When you leave make sure they took the charges off! I had to spend a good 15 minutes going over each meal with the front desk to make sure they took the charges off.

Cannot say enough, good things about our week at Atlantis! We’ve had some wonderful vacations in the past, but this one takes the cake. Absolutely everything was perfect.

First time in the Bahamas. Beautiful island and lots of very kind and nice locals. Food is very expensive so just be careful when budgeting that into your vacation. I would recommend bringing dried goods, snacks, and water bottles. Did the Blue Adventure snorkeling and it was awesome and amazing. So happy we did that excursion!

The Resort is beautiful, the water/beaches are stunning. The room was great (except the TV in the bathroom didn't work despite my request for someone to service it). The staff was very helpful, especially Aaron at guest services and Carla, our housekeeper. A few minor complaints. The Reef, though lovely, had minimal food options (Starbucks was our breakfast every morning), and no real dinner options, at least for families. The beach chairs were a nuisance. I thought they were first-come, first-served, but apparently if you can tip well, you will get the best chairs. My daughter and I were "kicked out" of our hooded chairs one day by an unpleasant older couple that claimed to have left their towels on them. Virtually every chair had leftover towels on them so how are you supposed to know? I'm not sure if there is supposed to be drink/food service on the beach, but we never saw anyone. Otherwise, great trip!
