From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this experience would be something special. Shawn at Carna sets the gold standard for service and hospitality while redefining what it means to offer outstanding service. Every detail was handled with care, warmth, and genuine attention. It’s not often that hospitality feels both professional and personal, but he struck the nail on the head. With Shawn at the lead, the staff also anticipated needs I didn’t even know I had, all with a smile and sincerity that didn’t feel rehearsed, but honest and heartfelt. It’s rare to encounter people who so clearly love what they do and are committed to creating unforgettable moments for their guests. This wasn’t just good service, it was exceptional. The kind of experience that leaves a lasting impression and sets a new standard. If you’re looking for a place where you’re not just treated as a customer but truly cared for, look no further and be sure to request Shawn.

We will not be back and left very disappointed in general of this trip. We stayed at SLS for four nights and decided to return from staying at the Hyatt in 2021. If you are good with the below, then perhaps this is the hotel for you: (my husband and I travel frequently, expect to pay for great service and food. We pay for convenience and enjoy nice and newer hotels). - [ ] I am leaving with a wild rash on my neck and chest that itches like crazy. Believed to of gotten at SLS pool on the first day. Didn’t wish to see the clinic and pay $200 out of pocket as I read in another review - [ ] When we checked out we had to wait over 30 minutes in the lobby line. The staff are overworked. Never have I stood up in a 30 minute line for a checkout. This is completely unacceptable !! - [ ] The SLS oceanfront room was tiny (1013) and in all the hallways it was completely outdated. - [ ] The bed was comfortable yet. It did not have a sheet, just a comforter, and it was rather warm (called down and they had one up with ten minutes) - [ ] We have stayed at the Hyatt Bajamar and we like the quality of people better over there then the young hip-hop crowd at the SLS. I am 40 and my husband is 55. We do prefer the SLS pool. We feel like the people who stay in this tower are a hip hop generation - [ ] When servers are making money, 15% gratuity is charged to every single drink and ticket. We are fine paying this 15% for a drink, but noticed that most all of the servers are lazy (not Jeff). We have waited 10 to 20 minutes without a drink and we are looking around wonderingwhen our server is going to come back. In Mexico this would never have happen. Servers are on top of their craft and make rounds every 10-15 minutes (is it a cultural laziness here in the Bahamas at the pool). The Mexican culture automatically come by more often for $1-2 USD, per trip which is significantly less when I’m paying out of pocket $21 per drink which equates to being charged 25% (15% auto tip and VAT tip?). - [ ] Marcus the seafood restaurant was really disappointing this trip. In 2021 we remember it being our favorite and we ate 2x here this trip and the only memorable thing I had was the cornbread. Paid $300 for dinner to leave unsatisfied. His filet was disappointing The Positives: Christie Chipman-concierges agent saved our entire vacation. we waited until the last minute to look to book restaurants at night. Mind you, we visited toward the end of June and the occupancy seemed rather high between 90 and 100% if we were to guess. When I looked online a week before our trip, the dinner time were all booked out for the restaurants and we were able to get 9:30 PM. My husband contacted Christie. the concierge’s agent and she was a godsend. We were able to book 630 times through her for our anniversary and birthday. Cannot say enough good things about this woman!! She made our week!!! Katsuya-AMAZING ! Shavine offered great service and gave us the best advice on house favorites. Had miso glazed cod and it holds the spots as the best fish I’ve ever eaten (and I’m a pescatarian and it’s all I eat). My husband had a beef tenderloin paired with asparagus and he rated it a 9 1/2 the asparagus was a 10. We also ordered a tiger roll which was fantastic and the egg fried rice which was good as well. The spicy edamame was perfect. Wanted to highlight a gentleman Server for Breakfast at Cleo whose name is Kirklyn. He put an urgency and pride in his job and caring for his tables. His positive attitude and outlook was more than noticed and I wanted to give him a huge shout out Jeff (Jeffrey) at the pool each day was top notch . And made rounds much faster than other servers at SLS. Darren in the Swimming Pig made my favorite drink called the “Bahamian Sunrise”. He was on top of it each night Marco Polo and Dante were amazing at Marcus. The 2nd time eating this trip we had the half chicken, Collard green (so so good) and shrimp and grits. Those were fantastic! He steered us and our 2nd meal was fab (our first left a lot to be imagined).

We went with friends and family and they accommodated us as a walk in. Reservations are extremely tough to get and they book up 2 months in advance so we were excited. Our server was named Sean. We travel with 10-20 people all over the best vacations spots across the world. Sean is by far the best server that has ever served us. He sets the bar high for the industry and wish he was our server with every dinner we had out. Because of Sean , Carna was the best restaurant experience at Baha Mar.
