If you think "all-inclusive Jamaica vacation" and "bespoke experience" are mutually exclusive, welcome to The Caves. Built into honeycomb cliffs that drop off into the Caribbean Sea, a dozen colorful wooden cottages are nestled among 10 acres of lush vegetation, making for a secluded retreat that's increasingly rare in Negril. Sidle up to a candlelit table carved into a limestone grotto at the Blackwell Rum Bar and dine on gourmet home cooking under the stars – this is beach living at its best.

This was a magical vacation for my husband and I and I’m not sure I can even put into words how special this property is. From the moment you arrive you feel like you are being cared for and I truly believe the staff are an integral part of how amazing it really is. The food is fresh and delicious and we looked forward to every single meal. Swimming off the cliffs is an experience you can’t miss and one evening we even saw dolphins! Gardener Owen was such a joy to chat with and he definitely took pride in tending to all the beautiful plants snd flowers around the property. Too many staff to mention as they were all just so lovely. I would say the only downside is that we don’t ever want to stay anywhere else!

If you are looking for a unique and luxurious Jamaican getaway, then you absolutely must stay at The Caves. From the moment we arrived on the property, we were treated like family. Not only is the landscape the best in Jamaica, the quality of the food and friendliness of staff were unparalleled. Omar ensured that our trip was magical from start to finish. Stacy kept us fed and hydrated -- we truly wanted for nothing. This was an incredible trip and cannot sing its praises enough.

I recently stayed at The Caves with my mom and sister for girls' getaway and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The views were stunning from all over the grounds. There were plenty of places to lounge overlooking the water, and ladders to get into and out of the water. The caves were unique and a fun place to have a drink and watch the waves crash. We had a relaxing, fantastic time. I would love to visit again, next time maybe I'll bring my husband.

We just got back from one of the best vacations we’ve ever taken — hands down. If Jamaica is on your radar, do yourself a favor and look into The Caves before you book anywhere else. This hidden gem, part of the Island Outpost collection, is perched above the Caribbean with views that are absolutely breathtaking. It feels like a dream — colorful cliffs, turquoise water, and sunsets that don’t even look real. The staff? Incredible. Warm, welcoming, and truly next-level in making you feel at home. We did yoga with the most unreal backdrop — I couldn’t hold a pose to save my life and even toppled over at one point, but it didn’t matter. That view makes everything better. And the food… wow. Easily the best we’ve ever had at any all-inclusive resort — fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Pro tip: there are no TVs in the rooms (though you can request one), but honestly, you won’t miss it. The real show is outside your window. This trip was soul-soothing in every way, and we’re already dreaming about going back.

Fast Facts: • All inclusive (meals, beverages, water sports, 1-2 daily activities, snacks & stocked mini-frig) • Approximately 11 cottages • Breathtaking views • Clean and well-maintained older rooms • Rooms spaced out, overlooking cliffs • Crashing waves within earshot • Several romantic spots • Small pool • No beach • Plenty of sunbathing chairs with umbrellas • Impeccable and professional service • Excursions via boats that view the caves throughout the day (not intrusive, sometimes entertaining) • Rick’s Café in walking and sight distance • Good food and low-level entertainment • Patty and coconut available daily • In-room recognition of special events • Turndown service kept mosquitoes away (no bites at night while sleeping) Recommended for lodging close to the water, an escape to recharge, quality time with oneself or a partner, or a pleasant hotel stay in Negril. Although reviews are limited, many guests and several returning guests indicate satisfaction. We intend to return. Excursion: Mayfield Falls: Arranged by hotel, Guide Dwight Expanded Details: We stayed in the Stardust two-story room, located at the end of the property, directly near the sea. It had its own WiFi connection. There is no television in the room. We stayed at three resorts during this trip, and The Caves was the only place to arrange a special anniversary recognition, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a simple yet romantic gesture. We never felt the need to tip for better or faster service during our stay but did tip upon departure. The service felt akin to a butler experience at a large all-inclusive resort, yet staff were simply kind, accommodating, friendly, and not overbearing—just normal Jamaican hospitality from the receptionist to the security guard. They showed appreciation for our visit and treated us like family. If no one was at the bar, it was acceptable to serve yourself a drink. The meals were good, especially the soups, which were delicious; I could eat a bowl of soup and salad for lunch and dinner every day. Hotel Suggestion: Consider offering leftover soup between lunch and dinner. Limited options available when we arrived between lunch and dinner. A few appetizers were lukewarm and would be excellent if served hot, which is understandable given the size and capacity of the resort. Our turndown service was punctual and thorough each night, ensuring the room was prepared to eliminate or minimize mosquitoes using candles, a fan, and setting up the bed net. We chose not to use the fan at night to hear the waves, and we did not get bitten while sleeping. I had an outstanding workout with Nico, a renowned personal trainer from Goldeneye, the sister resort. This included targeted lower and upper body endurance strength training, concluding with deep stretching. Listed activities during our stay included: • Monday: Movie Mondays • Tuesday: Mixology • Wednesday: Yoga, Cooking Class, Cliff Diving • Friday: Art Class • Saturday: Yoga • Sunday: Fitness Class with Nico, Cocktail in Rum Bar Dinner at the restaurant offered low music, stunning views and the sound of waves, creating an intimate oasis where other diners were easily forgotten. Dining overlooking the sea felt like a private experience despite 6-7 tables outside.
