Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

This was a wonderful stay for me and I can definitely recommend this place. I found this hotel to be very good value compared to the sky-high rates most 5 star hotels in Tokyo charge. Taking this into account, I did not begrudge having to pay extra for the pool / spa area. The strong points are the very spacious, comfortable and well maintained rooms and the beautiful garden in the middle of Tokyo. It is a very serene and quiet space. I loved the style and elegance of the hotel. It is a bit retro as very much in the 1990s Four Seasons style but perfectly maintained and carefully modernised. The quality of the fittings and furnishings is exceptional and has stood the test of time. Staff were always very friendly and courteous. I did not find the location too inconvenient. In fact it was a very pleasant short downhill walk to the metro station (though uphill on the way back). There is a nice selection of restaurants at the hotel. The one major drawback for me personally was that there is no breakfast buffet, as I prefer the freedom and variety this offers. However, it was okay for me during my 3 days as I could alternate between the Western and Japanese style options.

The place is comfort, luxury and history all at the same time. The rooms area spacious and comfortables, beds are great, spacious and perfect. The hotel is located at Chinzanso park which is in itself a tourist attraction… just breathtaking! While location is not very centric, you can get to a train station through a short taxi ride. The personnel is friendly and accommodating, there are several very high quality restaurants and fantastic room service. Katsuyo grom the tepoanyaki restaurant was a darling and tought my son how to use chopsticks with sucha care and patience! The only downside is that you must pay an extra 50 usd fee to use the spa for 24 hrs, which seems a bit much considering the hotel is not exactly cheap. Regardless of the latter, I would definitely return and recommend it enthusiastically!

We absolutely loved this property. A true 5-star experience across the board, from the exceptional dining to the comfort and quality of the rooms. The views from our room were incredible, and the expansive garden quickly became our favorite place to unwind. The spa was a hidden gem and well worth visiting. The staff were outstanding throughout. Easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at anywhere in the world.

We had a really lovely stay at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo. Our room had a beautiful garden view, which made the whole experience feel calm and relaxing — it’s hard to believe you’re still in the middle of Tokyo. The gardens were definitely the highlight. They’re absolutely stunning, especially to walk through in the morning or evening, with the pond, greenery, and peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, the mist in the gardens lights up in pink, which creates a really unique and almost magical setting. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but it was very good with a nice selection and a pleasant setting. Overall, a very peaceful and enjoyable stay — perfect if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and surrounded by nature while still being in Tokyo.

Don’t let the location put you off this hotel - the extra time on the metro is more than worth the unique luxury experience. From the moment you arrive you will receive 5 star service, the rooms are enormous and beautifully maintained. I loved the cleaver modern touches they have made while keeping the original style. The garden is spectacular! It’s popular with locals and tourists and I highly recommend.
