The Leela Palace New Delhi

We had an excellent time out here. The decor and ambience is just majestic and aristocratic. The Japanese cuisine is one of the best I had in India. The staff is so cooperative and made us very comfortable and their suggestions were upto the mark. Overall a very satisfying experience.

We had the pleasure of spending one night at the Leela Palace in New Delhi. First stay with this chain – everything started smooth: polite pickup at the airport, safe drive over. Staff were warm and efficient, even threw in a double room upgrade that we appreciated. Hotel itself? Clean, elegant, right in the city heart. Just wish breakfast service and lobby check-in moved a hair faster – queues built up a bit. Still, solid choice for urban explorers; we'd recommend it to anyone passing through.

This review may be belated (I haven’t written in a while), but my gratitude is as fresh as the welcome I receive every time I walk through the doors of The Leela Palace. From the moment I land in Delhi, the show begins—Praveen or Ankit at airport security to welcome me, Govind ji to see me off, and a fleet of drivers who are so reliable, I’m convinced they know my calendar better than I do. Many are old-timers, which is oddly comforting in a restless world. Kranti, Dineshwar, and Sarita—the first woman chauffeur I’ve ever had at any hotel worldwide—have all made my journeys memorable. A few months ago, I was whisked to the airport in a brand-new 7 Series BMW. The driver, Ajay Vashist, confessed they’d received the car that morning but saved it till evening—just so I could be the first passenger. Forget “fast lane”—that’s what I call VIP treatment on wheels! The hotel itself is like coming home, only with more chandeliers. Gurcharan, Ajit, Jasdeep, and the front office team make sure I never enter unnoticed. The bell desk team practically adopts my deliveries, whisking them up before I can blink. In the Club Lounge, Diksha and Shifa greet me with a smile while Harleen ensures my tea cup is constantly topped up. Once, while opening packages in the Lobby Lounge, I was gently told not to. Far from offended, I was thrilled—my earlier plea to keep the lounge guest-only had actually been taken seriously. Thoughtful listening is rare; here, it’s practically an art form. And then there’s Chef Jolly, who has the flair of a magician. He once spotted me at the bakery counter, dragged me to the lounge, and conjured up fresh sandwiches on the spot. Another time, he came running to my car just to wave goodbye—as if I were royalty sneaking off without notice. Meanwhile, Astik with his baked treats along with Rachna make sure my family’s sweet tooth is never left disappointed. Every encounter—from Aveesha’s warm smile to Preeti’s orchestration behind the scenes—reminds me that The Leela is a palace with kindness and heart. Other hotels may offer luxury. The Leela provides personality and a sense that you truly matter. And that, in a world of cookie-cutter five-stars, is priceless.

I recently stayed at The Leela Palace New Delhi, and what struck me immediately was not just the grandeur of the property but the way I was made to feel from the very first interaction. There’s a difference between being served and being cared for, and my experience here was very much the latter. Every encounter with the staff felt genuine. They anticipated my needs in ways that felt thoughtful rather than scripted, and there was a consistent sense that they were invested in my comfort. I wasn’t treated like “just another guest,” but like someone whose presence truly mattered. That feeling is rare, and it set this stay apart from so many others. I want to especially acknowledge Rik, Kabi, and Himanshu, whose exceptional service and kind, attentive presence elevated my stay even further. They ensured I felt comfortable and cared for at every step, and their warmth and professionalism reflected the very best of what hospitality can be. The hotel itself is undeniably beautiful, but for me, it’s the human side of hospitality that leaves the strongest memory. At The Leela Palace, I felt welcomed, respected, and truly taken care of. I left with both admiration for their service and a deep sense of gratitude for the people who made my stay so meaningful. I would return without hesitation, not just because it’s a luxury hotel, but because of the way it made me feel.
