The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi

For a 5-star hotel, the services were below par. The hotel car pickup from the airport cost over 7k IDR and it was only an Innova! The female staff who checked me in and asked me to pay my entire hotel stay bill upon check in was charging me an amount higher than what was losted in my confirmed reservation email. I had to show her the email! I felt like I needed to guard against being ripped off at every turn.

I stayed at the Taj Mahal hotel two nights before my return flight to recharge after the trip and it was a splendid experience. I decided to gift myself with a manicure done by Seema which resulted in me having great hands on the plane! Very happy with the quality of the service and the care they provide to the guests. Recommended.

We had a truly lovely stay in a Club suite. The room was beautiful and the service throughout our stay was impeccable. The staff in Machan were amazing, kindly teaching us about various types of Indian breakfasts and how to eat them. The Captain Cellar staff took care of us a couple of evenings, attentively serving us delicious food and drinks (the Pollo al Ajillo was so delicious we had it twice). We had an opportunity to spend a fantastic afternoon poolside where the pool staff were very helpful and kind. Overall it was a truly an amazing stay and we look forward to not only recommending the hotel to others but to staying again should we get the privilege to return to Delhi.

The whole stay seemed very disjointed to me. I had lunch twice at the restaurant and both the times i was told i would need to pay taxes(which i am okay paying) on my epicure vouchers especially when i had made a 10,000 rupees deposit to the hotel at the check in. why couldnt the taxes for food be deducted from the deposit or else whats the point of the deposit. The time taken for food to come out was irrationally high. it ruins the experience. On one day i asked for Fresh Hot Milk. First time i got hot frothy milk from the machine in a small cup. I asked fresh hot milk in a bigger glass. Second time it came as some coffee based hot drink. i told them i require only Hot milk but not from a machine. EVen third time i got the machine milk. I gave up. Its a very simple thing i asked. similar thing happened with my chai. which i wanted to be made only with milk, however twice it came very watery, i gave up. Another instance, was they couldnt find me a spa slot in taj mahal or taj palace, citing some software was down. Another instance, was after my first night i was called in room to vacate room without checking that i had another 1 day stay in the same room. Felt like no team is speaking to other team in the hotel. All in all service was missing. Again i am not sure is it because i was using epicure vouchers to stay and thats why the surrogate treatment or is that the general quality of stay is expected.

Our overall experience was exceptional there ...starting from welcome to our checkout.. especially their hospitality, food quality n vast menu & the luxurious stay..
