This former New Orleans Public Service, Inc. headquarters has been reinvented as upscale luxury hotel. What a great experience, make sure to say hi to Kevin he is the best all the staff were great. Close to everything walking distance and a beautiful hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and is located in a convenient and quieter location. The history of NOPSI is really interesting and if you go take a peek inside their ballroom. Very cool! The staff was wonderful! Richard, the bell hop, was our best resource for all things New Orleans! He & the concierge both worked together to book us tours & arrange transportation. All of the staff at the front desk were awesome as well. Even the restaurant staff was great & our favorite bartender, Miss Raven, all made us feel welcome & made sure we laughed & were well taken care of. The only downside was our room, 327. I'm not sure if it was just our room or the other rooms as well? It was just damp. The sheets, pillows, towels, etc. Nothing dried. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The room never got cool. We had a view of a concrete wall so that didn't help. It was clean but so dark. We never even had to shut the curtains because it was that dark. I think it was missing a few lamps. If they could fix the damp, smelly room, I wouldve given a 5 star review. The bathroom was huge & so nice! It was just terrible to come back to the room after a humid day of walking, take a shower, then sweat again because it was so warm & damp in there. All-in-all, it really is a nice place. We LOVED the staff. Phenomenal!

Worst Experience Ever

I'm not going to tell people not to stay here. You might have a completely different experience. This was our first trip to New Orleans and this hotel stay has left a bitter taste. Here's a list of everything that went wrong: - Check-in was rushed even though we were the only ones checking in at the time. No friendly chatter, just "here are your room keys". - Once in the room, we noticed an odor similar to old Cheetos. - None of the lights worked except the desk lamp. - The bathroom door wouldn't fully close. - In-room dining somehow managed to run out of noodles. - The footboard of the beds stuck out in such a way that my son has a terrific bruise from running into it several times (and yes he should watch where he's going, but you know, it was dark cause... no lights.) All of that I was willing to shrug off until the internet issues started. My son needed the Wi-fi to finish up some last minute schoolwork. He was having trouble getting it going so he called the front desk, and they hung up on him. So I called. 3 times. They didn't answer. I went down to the front desk and was given some troubleshooting steps to try. The steps didn't work. I returned to the front desk where I was told that they couldn't help and I should contact the hotel's ISP. Desperate to get it working for my son's sake, I called the ISP. They started a trouble ticket and assured me someone would reach out within 24 hours. We gave up at this point, packed our things and left. Or tried to. At the front desk, we were informed that their computers were down, so I had to write my room number and email on a post-it. They promised to send me the receipt as soon as it was functional. (It's been 3 days, and still no receipt.) I realize that a lot of these issues fall under the "first world problems" category, but when you spend a good chunk of your hard earned money to stay in a luxury hotel, you should get what you pay for. That didn't happen here. I hope the rest of you have better luck.
