Lovely rooms and staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

We were so delighted with our stay at 33 Seaport. The hotel itself feels modern and clean, spacious rooms and great bathrooms. Lovely bar which we spent time in and were grateful for Lulu’s hospitality and excellent cocktails! We also had a phenomenal amuse bouche and a short chat with the chef. The front desk staff were also really friendly and accommodating. We also loved the gentleman who delivered our admittedly quite random room service request! Everyone was so friendly and the facilities were great. We prefer boutique style hotels so this really hit the spot for us. The area itself surprised us - it was quiet but with a great vibe and selection of lovely bookshops and places to eat. Very close to all the attractions downtown which was handy. We’re returning to the hotel soon and can’t wait!

Wonderful Hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

This is a wonderful hotel! My mother stayed in a king room for one week over Christmas, and she couldn’t have been happier. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. It was important for an 80-year-old woman, staying in a hotel in New York City on her own to feel safe and cared for - and she did! I live nearby in the neighborhood, and always admired the lobby bar and restaurant, and was happy to find the rooms to be equally as luxe. My mother‘s room was large and spacious, the bathroom bright - complete with Malin + Goetz toiletries. The bedding and towels were high-quality and super soft. She was eager to report that she slept well, and that her room was quiet. I’m writing this review on her behalf, as she wanted to share her wonderful experience and she will definitely be back!

Good place, but check the weather for rain if you have a terrace room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Great place, charming staff and amazing view. Just watch out if it rains - our terrace flooded during an overnight storm and took 1/4 inch of water in one corner. We had to leave the room early because the waterlogged section of the carpet was spreading. Just a word of caution - watch the forecast.

Quiet comfortable boutique hotel but pricey

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

Stayed here two nights in Room 705, on the top floor with a wraparound balcony and windows on all sides. It has an amazing view of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bridge. It is a suite. One room has a pullout couch (OK comfort) with a full bathroom and the second room has a king size bed and bathroom with a shower and a tub next to it., all enclosed. Very nice to have such a spacious comfortable room in NYC! There is a minibar and stocked fridge in the room. But note there is no icemaker on any floor; you have to request ice from room service (?!). Not much room in the fridge to put your own drinks in it. The hotel feels like a boutique luxury place. The neighborhood is quiet but near the Seaport, Tin Building and the Financial District. Cons: - $49 per day destination fee. For what? This is on top of City Tax 5.88%, State Tax 8.88%, Occupancy Tax $3.50, Suite Occupancy Tax (only on Suite rooms) 8.88%. - Building rated D for energy efficiency. Which didn’t surprise me given the poor fitting windows in our room and the fact that the room temperature was 76 even though we had set the thermostat to 68. There is an attached restaurant where we had breakfast two mornings. Each room gets a $60 credit per night for breakfast (2 people $30 each per night), The yogurt granola parfait, pastry tin and raspberry brioche French toast were scrumptious. Note that wait times can be long as the restaurant also provides room service for the hotel so don’t come here if you are in a rush. Summary: we enjoyed our stay but not sure it was worth the price of $900 per night plus taxes plus “destination fee.”
